I joined a while ago and with one thing (daughters wedding / illness) and another forgot!!!

Currently have £244, but will hopefully be able to catch up when I get paid this week.
  • Just returned to the thread after months away from it:o. I was very interested and inspired by the original challenge but, having no chance of saving anything at that time, didn't register for it.

So glad to see many challengers are still sticking at it. Well done all:beer:

I'm confused now though (nothing new there:o) and see that some of you are doing a 'backward' challenge. Haven't time to read through all the posts I missed but from the bit I have seen it looks more 'saver-friendly'. The original sums involved put me off starting but if there have been new developments which make things more achievable (for the seriously skint like me) I'd be very grateful if someone could explain them.

Thanks to anyone who responds. In the meantime, Good Luck to everyone on achieving what you set out to do
  • I find those money tins that need opening with a can opener really useful for making such savings... you can get them in most £1 shops and you really cant open it till it's full cos you need a tin opener!!!
  • Sounds pretty easy to put into place, but would I stick to it? Probably not
  • I have just quit smoking though and I estimate this alone is probably saving me around £2000 a year

OK, paid some overtime today so I have made savings up to week 29 - £435.

Now just got to remember to put £30 in next week - eek!!
  • Hi Everyone,

I loved this challenge and it allowed me to save for a holiday, and i didn't spend all the money so also helped me decorate my living room, I am looking to start the challenge again.

I think im gonna start with the big numbers again, but will switch around weeks as this month no overtime pay, but have few hours next month!

So im transferring weeks 1,2 into on backwards, £103 into savings xx
