nicki did you teach DD to crochet or did she get instructions online? I've tried utube but find the demos go too fast despite stop/starting the videos. If it was online can you recommend a site?

She watched this video on utube and followed the links to the rest of the series. She's only got to the "single crochet" stage but I'm hoping she'll have another go at the other videos in the series once she's got a little more confident ;) I found this channel very useful for learning knitting techniques which is its main focus. My nanna tried for years to teach me how to 'purl' and make stuff but I never managed it. I watched this channel and managed to produce this:

Packed DD off to bed. So I'm going to sit back and watch a film. While I tweak my lists....

  • Good evening all, not had much time to post but I have managed 'most' jobs on the list. Now I'm cluttered with bags n stuff needing to be donated to charity.. :/ but considering its the holidays my house is relatively clean and tidy, happy days :)

    new thread

I'm sorry it's late; I've been to a little music festival because one of my colleagues is in a band and they were the headline act. They were brilliant; they're a 12 piece ska band - I knew every song they played - Pioneers; Toots and the Maytalls; Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs, Selecter, Bad Manners and The Specials...awesome. And I danced. I actually went all on my own but got talking to people, a bloke came up to me and had a natter - a former colleague with whom I worked 30:eek: years ago - apparently I haven't changed a bit:D and a few people who had had a fair bit of falling down juice engaged me in conversation. I have never been out on my own before! (ie without having arranged to meet someone) so a hurdle crossed...also it was at a pub where I've been before so familiar territory.

Wooo hoooo! Well done you. My personal hurdle was laughing out loud without having someone to share it with when I was happy - I was single for a very long time and very happy that way when I got used to it - which took a bit of time. (So was OH.) The longer you do it, as long as you keep doing something new to you, the easier it gets. Honest.
