Good luck TG, hope it all goes well for you.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Good luck TG. A new diary is a good idea, a new start and new challenges. Link it to here so people can find it.
  • Good luck. Just checking is he capable of looking after the cats given his alcohol routine and his memory problems?

Just a quick update as too tired to start new diary tonight. Move when well he would have seen the letter tonight but no phone call so in a way good as I don't have to deal with it. Been an emotional day but I've made the right decision and my new landlord is absolutly lovely I think I shall be really happy here.

Cats will be fine he adores them and would never neglect them they get fed and have access to he outside so I have no concerns but will obviously check up on them. So tired I won't be long before I sleep.

Another quick update as not started new diary.

Been living on my own for a month now love my new freedom and being so close to work. Loads has happened since my last update my life so so going to change but I think much for the better.

As you know this restructure at work could mean my manager and friend wouldn't get the new joint chief officers job (interviews early May). I'm on 24k a year min terms so not exactly great and with restructure I would become bureau mananger with an in effect two day CO as support above me. I might get tiny wage increase but the hours would be be really long and responsibility high.

If my manager don't get the job we could end up both having to apply for my job and I could loose out. Well I decided I didn't want this I needed a new start so applied for job in central London same field but not CAB. My a manager also applied but didn't tell me so I bumped into her at the interview. To cut a long story short I got offered the job she went all funny refused to complete all sections of my reference.

All sorted now and I start 1/6/15 it's a years maternity cover but fab career wise and Salary is wait for it"..................£42,500.

Decided I want to live walking distance from work which is about £1000 a month just for a room in shared house. I can visit my friend at weekends down here and I go to gym most nights.

It's a new adventure and I'm so looking forward to it, jobwise it just fits as I don't want to live forever in London but it's super experience. Also I get away from exDH.

Final bit cats fine he's not done anything to stop the drinking looks worse than ever. I'll let him stay in the house for a year then either sell or one buys the other one out. I'll want a bigger share if he's to live there a year rent free.

Anyway take care off to see old works mates at old HQ this weekend will be good. New diary will be started soon, possible themed around money saving in central London.

    Dear All
That was a year since my last post and what a year it has been a good one indeed but not particularly money saving I must say.

Where do I start well why did I stop posting in the first place I don't really know guess my life got a bit complicated and with a new job and new place to live I just didn't do it. I have missed my old chums at MFW and when I logged in the other day (after having to ask for my log in) I really enjoyed reading everyone's diaries again.

Not sure how I can update you all or if you are even that interested in what did happen after I left my husband, my lovely mortgage free home and my two beautiful cats to take up a well paid job in Central London which was only for 1 year.

Where do you start? Guess with the house which is still there mortgage free but currently occupied by the beutiful cats and the ex husband who is now a full blown alcoholic. The cats are fine I'm making sure of that and he does pay all the household bills but I'm not benefitting from the house other then we haven't divided everything up yet so it's free storage and also the cats are not having to be moved.

His 91 year old dad is trying to run the family business and lok after his son who lost his licence to drink driving and lastly broke his ankle so now takes taxis to the local garage to buy booze lately whiskey which I saw him drink at 11.30 am. Sad but he doesn't think he has a problem and doesn't want help. His dad is trying but all these accidents (ankle was the cats fault) is obviously a concern but quite frankly it's disgusting that his dad is having to put up with this.

I'm meeting his dad and brother at the end of the month hopefully he will talk some sense into his dad. Ideally I would like ex moving in with his dad (after rehab obviously) and then the house can be rented out and we can both have an income. The cats could live with his dad but sadly not me I cannot have cats here.

I'm so lucky we were mortgage free otherwise I couldn't just have left everything as it was. Horrible as it is about my ex husband sadly there was nothing I could do I had to leave for my sanity and as I will post later on my life is pretty good as it turned out.

Take care off to ready some diaries.

Thank Newgirly lovely to know people do read my ramblings. At work and doing the Legal Walk tonight but will try to update on all the other areas in my life namely:

    Job & career
    Personal finance/savings etc
    Personal life/Family

Been so many changes for the better so glad when I read this from the start of this diary August 13 why it took me until April 16 to realise I shall never know:
I have been with my DH for 22 years and we will have been married 10 years next year. I do love him but I feel we have got a bit of track recently more like sister and brother. He struggled after he lost his mum over a year ago and is currently under the doctor for liver problems largely due to drinking too much. We are working at the cutting down on drinking for him (I don't drink much anymore) but its hard work. He still has memory loss and easily gets confused. I don't think he is actually depressed but he is certainly not himself like he used to be before his mum died. Saying that I don't want to go back to his excess drinking days.

Great to see you posting again TG

I too managed to lose a husband along the way, although it took over 4 years to divorce and settle finances  And don't be too hard on yourself - you could see there were issues but gave your marriage a chance.

I look forward to catching up with your journey.

Welcome back. Glad life has turned around:)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
