I agree. Just add in to Valli's letter something like....

I would be grateful if you could reimburse the cost of the Jo Loves candle - £75 (receipt enclosed) together with the £xx cost for cleaning my table and carpet (estimates to follow).

Now now, let's be honest. If you took £260 and set fire to it, it wouldn't smell nearly as good as ylangylang/rose/tulips/madeupsmells/snooty/floweryou'retocommontohaveheardof, would it?!

    :rotfl:

I'm too common to have heard of Jo Malone or Jo Loves before this thread. Now I have posh candle envy to add to my list of life's unfairnesses! Actually, not. A candle is a candle, no matter how posh it smells.

Impulse body spray (one of them anyway) smells nicer than most expensive perfumes I've encountered, but doesn't last. At £1 a pop, I don't mind reapplying, and I bet it would make my ironing smell lovely, if I ever did any ironing :o

Yes and shame as she actually had a fair case to put to Jo Loves.

I do like to hear the end to stories like these rather than being left mid flow. :)
