For christs sake. This original post was made in June 2007. That's five years ago. Do you really think the OP has been waiting on a post 5 years later to advise where to send his umbrella? Good lord.
Gosh, here's a thought - maybe other people need similar information and come here looking at a later date?0 -
Nearly 30 years ago I had an umbrella repaired in Manchester. The man who mended had letters addressed to him "The Umbrella Man, Manchester" stuck up on the wall of his shop, although that wasn't the name of his business. I've just done a google search for "umbrella repairs Manchester" and came up with this, not sure if it's the same company but here's hoping:

Fingers crossed this helps!
Just want to let anyone know who comes across this thread that Manchester's Umbrella Man - Eric Hibbert (and my dear father-in-law) - passed away one week ago. He was nearly 84 and repairing expensive & antique umbrellas up to the week before he died!
He received umbrellas from all over the country - as far as we know, he was unique! We don't believe there is anyone else still providing such a service.0 -
Thank you Bayla for letting us know and may he rest in peace, I hope there will be someone to pick up this dying art otherwise all these broken brollies will be dumped which is not a good thing in my book.Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!
