If you can't repair it yourself by a bit of improvisation then it probably isn't worth repairing due to the cost.

Who would spend £25 on an umbrella? £10 will buy a reasonable wind proof golfing style one.

You may have difficulty with the entire book if you cannot find the info you asked for already in the post.:rotfl:
Reader's Digest Repair Manual of 1981!
  • Nearly 30 years ago I had an umbrella repaired in Manchester. The man who mended had letters addressed to him "The Umbrella Man, Manchester" stuck up on the wall of his shop, although that wasn't the name of his business. I've just done a google search for "umbrella repairs Manchester" and came up with this, not sure if it's the same company but here's hoping:

    Express Umbrella Repairs
    56 Parkstone Avenue
    Whitefield
    Greater Manchester M45 7QH

    Telephone 0161 766 3501
    . No website.

    Fingers crossed this helps!

For christs sake. This original post was made in June 2007. That's five years ago. Do you really think the OP has been waiting on a post 5 years later to advise where to send his umbrella? Good lord.

This is a money saving site :money:.

After 5 years, OP probably has a dozen broken umbrellas saved up for the day when someone names a repairer.
