Where do you get umbrellas fixed??

  • As I said, this is an expensive, irreplaceable item of sentimental value which just needs a small replacement part - not bad for an umbrella that's been in regular use for eight years. Not sure why this is proving so difficult to understand! Would most of you replace a vintage sports car with a scooter, just because of a flat tyre? Seems so.

Thanks to slummymummyof3 and almar for your sympathetic responses, but I can see I'm wasting my time here. Bye!
  • Try the key cutter/Shoe repairer located in the local dry Cleaners, they Sell/repair loads of stuff Shoes,Handbags Worth a try?
Can you not fix it with the 1001 uses CABLE TIE!!
OH THE JOYS OF BEING SELF-EMPLOYED!! Can Travel,Will Work For Free!
  • Is it a childs mini umberella? I searched ebay and they go eeyore brollys but I think the are adult ones? Don't know if that is any good for you?

  • Chill out? Um... almar, when I said "thanks for your sympathetic response" I actually meant it! Please read what I said in the context of the entire thread. You might see it differently second time around. Chill out indeed.

Yes, I'd be happy and able to mend it myself, but - like ali99 - need the right spare part before I can do so. Sellotape and cable ties alone won't do it. Sourcing the part off an old umbrella isn't working for me either, as I can't find one the right size.

But never mind. I'll sort it out.

(Natty082, note that ali99's original post about the child's umbrella dates from well over a year ago.)

Yes, sorry if I caused any confusion. I actually joined MSE expressly to revive this old thread. It currently comes top of a google search for "umbrella repair", which is how I stumbled across it.
