As to if it was the correct R number, how do I really know as I log them and dispose of the sheets - should I now start keeping them ?

I've occasionally had queries about received items - was I sure I had received on the date recorded on the system. Like you I don't keep the items and I did (they may have thought rhetorically) ask them whether I should keep received items given that the query about receipt day comes so long after the event.

In fact I now keep a very brief note of the R number and date received so that I can confirm as otherwise I don't know whether their record of the receipt date is not what I actually reported. I say that because I did find at one time that when the clocks changed and I reported around mid-night, the day was not reported correctly.

I have had a couple of queries stating the box was emptied after I posted on a Sat but SMART shows Mon. One time I saw the postie emptying the box on my way into town and posted on the way back home, the plate stated Monday. Are RM staff now falsifying collection times for some reason ?

This week I have had 2 received item queries asking if items were logged on the correct day. One stated I logged Fri and SMART data showed it should have been Wed. I only had one item yesterday and it was postmarked Thursday so !!!!!! is going on. As to if it was the correct R number, how do I really know as I log them and dispose of the sheets - should I now start keeping them ?

If you saw the box collected and the day tab showing Monday.
The mail inside is due to the MC on Monday.
So the RFID scan would be expected on Monday.

For obvious reasons I dont know what data passes between the survey & RM.
Its possible there was an issue on the collection scanning and RM are looking to clarify the data.

That's what I use the free diary for! I jot down what comes in when rather than keep piles of paper and log it next time I'm online. I've had the "are you sure?" e-mail once in each 6 month stint and just confirm what I noted.

I walked past one of my post boxes last week (non-posting day) and it was being cleared about 35 minutes after the stated last posting time. I'm guessing that was just postie running late on a busy day/ having been jammed in traffic. If (hypothetically) I had just posted something for the following day - then presumably the SMART might show it at the depot that evening the day before it was expected.
I need to think of something new here...

As I posted about before ....

My nearest post box is a 9am weekday last collection ....

... it is ALWAYS emptied JUST ONCE at 17:25 give or take a couple of minutes

Can't totally rely on the day displayed to know it's happened since it generally doesn't have one 3 or 4 days a week

The times displayed are the times you can post up to and expect the mail to be cleared that day.
After that it may or may not.
It doesnt mean the box will be cleared at that time.
As I have said before. 'Late' isnt an issue for collections as long as the mail connects to the hub/MC.

My closest box gets emptied at around 1130 as he collects from the PO and after 1730. One day he must have been on autopilot as he changed the day tab on the morning collection. I put the facts when I logged it but did not get a query.

2 more receipt queries this morning. The only one I remember was yesterday as it was posted 1st class on Thursday 17th. The one from last week, well I log them on the day I receive them but who knows if it was the right one.
