Could I ask when it said the item should be posted at "Post office", do I need to hand over to the counter? Or it will be fine if I just post into a post box outside the post office? Thanks0

Post box outside is fine.0 -
I've also posted two weeks late due to holidays and departure/return times home.0

I've been doing the unaddressed mail survey pretty much constantly since I've been on the panel (6 months, as I'm about to be rested - well, they said 2 weeks a week ago, and have sent me things to post into the new year... anyway).
For the first time today, I got this pack of stuff for the UMS. I have stickers to put on the items and envelopes to post the items back in. What a palaver. I thought they did away with all that ages ago!Comper and general cheapskate0 -
Hi guys, forgive me as this has probably been mentioned loads of times before but I couldn't see it in the search. After being a survey member for 2 years, I got an email out of the blue yesterday saying.......
"We are writing to inform you that Royal Mail has notified us that they are aware you are taking part in our survey. Unfortunately this means that we have had to remove you from the survey with immediate effect." (etc. etc. etc)
What I don't understand is that, these surveys are very well known throughout the royal mail and especially with postmen and that being so, a huge majority of the items received are obviously survey items. I can always tell a survey item, especially in standard envelopes as you can clearly feel the SMART. Surely every postman must know he is delivering to a panel member ?
I can't understand how they found out as nobody knows I did it, and I used a number of different PO's so it can't be the staff, why would they waste their time 'grassing' anyway?
Bitterly disappointed, no more free stampsDo they ever take anyone back after so long?

Another question from a newbie. I am now on panel but am feeling the volume of posting is much greater than in training. I have 3 trips to the post office in a week + other things to post via postbox on same week -is this normal?______________________________________0

Yep. But it's peaks and troughs. This week I only have 2. Normally I have 4. I've had up to 11 items, and have heard of others having more - but only cubes have to go to the post office, remember. Jiffy bags just go into the postbox.Comper and general cheapskate0 -

Thanks for that - I must be starting on a peak!
Got to say, love this thread for the advice given, I'll be back______________________________________0 -
I've had the same email, and also been with them about 2 years.

It may not be what, how or where you post items but something sent to you could have been damaged in the post and required them to examine the contents.
PO staff are not RM employee. The PO acts as an agent in, for example, selling postage stamps and housing post boxes.
However RM contract with TNS to provide a service and they want the survey to be as accurate as possible and without suspicion of massaging the figures.0 -
For the past 2-3 times, I've been getting 'are you sure you logged in the correct date' query. It says 'according to the smart you have logged it wrong'.
The first time I corrected it thinking I had probably made a mistake but I don't think I have. But surely a SMART reads information better. I don't understand why this is the case though. Anyone else had this? How did you deal with it?*Insert inspirational quote*0
