Keep getting the "we are short of SMARTs" note in my pack. Why then do they not ask for some of the 8 I have sitting here back ? They did ask for 1 back last week when I only had a mere 5 in stock.

They FINALLY asked for mine back last week - I had to send them 14. FOURTEEN.

I was on holiday this week so had nothing to send, so they left me with just 1, and then I had one come through last Saturday, so had 2. Need just 1 for next week - and then I got another one in the post yesterday directly from them. So thus begins the piling up of SMARTs again...

I swear, their left hand doesn't know what their right hand is doing.
    Comper and general cheapskate :)

Just had my posting pack for w/c 14 Dec and only need 3 SMARTs for that so leaves 5 in stock plus what will arrive over the next 2 weeks. They sent me one direct last week for some obscure reason :o

I have also sent them an e-mail about this new practice of sending jiffys made up. 2 in my pack this week so it would not fit through the letterbox.

edit: They have requested 5 SMARTs to be returned.

You should send extra Smarts back

    from the training guide lines

If you have a SMART for over a week which does not appear in your stock list,
please return it to us in one of the Freepost SMART return envelopes provided.

IF it does not appear in the stock list - generally SMARTS are in the stock list, in which case we should not return them until we are asked by TNS, this usually happens weekly on Fridays. Extra SMARTS that are listed on the stock list should be retained by the panellist until TNS ask for them to be returned.

They are pretty useless with SMART distribution - I'm on my 6 month break at the moment but, in my experience, I generally have either too many or not enough whilst doing the main survey. They can be very slow to ask for them to be returned, or alternatively they can ask for SMARTS to be returned and leave the panellist without enough for their own postings. The saying about not being able to organise a p-up in a brewery springs to mind :D

  • Not had this issue before so just want to see if anyone can help.

I received a Mailmark franked envelope today - franked 3.12.15 but there is another different ink stamp beneath it saying "Meter Control - Royal Mail - 4.12.15 - Posting Date Corrected." How do I input this one?? Is it a case for picking YES when it asked if there is more than one postmark? And what do I put as the date of the franking since the second stamp appears to correct the first?

    Never seen this before

    Hi

I think: one postmark and 4/12. (When did you receive it? what does it say on the R number paper?)

A franking mark is not a postmark. I'd be inclined to use the second stamp (4/12) but you might want to check with TNS by email or phone as I've never seen one of these before, just to be on the safe side :)

Thanks to both. Got it today - the R sheet has correct details on it and refers to "metered".

It's strange - as if Royal Mail have "intervened" somewhere in the process. I'll check with TNS.
