I don't agree with you. If that was the procedure we would all receive emails "ceasing" us after our training so we could be put on the full panel.

I did. I got one telling me I would be going on to the live panel, then one ceasing me , then one welcoming me to the live panel, all within a few days.

Someone queried TNS about it previously and was told it was some administrative thing.

If that's the case they need to reword it so that it's more clear.

I received a Short Break email today as well, and looking back to see if I'd received one at the end of training during my last stint on the survey, I found I had and it'd been four months before I'd been invited back. I'd then gone through the training again and transitioned seamlessly into the main survey without any email to tell me they were oversubscribed and they'd be pausing my participation. I think these Short Break emails are what they say they are, and cases where you are invited onto the live panel days later are just more instances of TNS being disorganised.

I got my last pack through this morning before resting and as well as my usual monthly 2 packs of stamps got a nice presentation pack of the British Comedy stamps with 2 additional packs of standard & large First Class stamps tucked inside. Very nice!!

I restarted on this again after having a 6 month break only to find that half of the postboxes I use to have changed their last collection times to 9am!!
They all used to have a collection of after 5pm making it easy to ensure they were all posted but now when I have to post after midday but before last collection this is impossible unless I go out of my way. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just my local area?

Last collection of 9am for the postboxes?!

You could post stuff the day before after the last collection and just put it down as posting early in the morning? Technically maybe not supposed to but no idea how you'd do it otherwise if you can't go first thing and there are no other boxes.

They have changed their last collection times to "not before". My nearest box the van is sometimes sitting waiting for 9am to empty it, other days it still has today's collection plate on at 12pm. ;)

They recently sent out a news sheet re this.

    You will find that items will now need to be posted witin two timebands;
    Before Midday and After Midday

Please post within the time bands as requested on your postal schedule and complete the posting information online as normal.

Please post your items before the Last Collection Time indicated on the post box. We are aware that in some instances it is not possible for you to post before Last Collection Time , in which case please post according to the instruction on the posting schedule.

If you are unable to post within the scheduled time band, please hold the item until the same day in the following week. Please ensure that the correct date of posting is entered when you go online. .

So if you still post even if it is after past collection time.

The last collection time for my local box is 11 am, so if the schedule states 'after midday' then the item will be posted after the last collection time as instructed above.

thats kinda handy.. im not on the main panel any more BUT

even tho our box says last collection 9am

i still see collections midday and 5pm. so their 9am is more of a guideline so they can collect when they want but not obligated to collect after said time
  • On Saturday I received a card from my local sorting office, advising me that there was an item which had been sent to me with the incorrect amount of postage.

I paid the postage and the item arrived this morning. The item is from another panellist. There was no postage at all on the envelope it was posted with just an address label and a number circled in the left hand corner.

Anyone had anything similar? Were you reimbursed for the additional cost you had to pay?
