Switch versions in that you can uninstall and reinstall any of the versions using the same licence.

In case one was missing a particular feature? Bugs in 2014? All hypothetical anyway.

Don't be ridiculous. 2014 is designed for Windows 8. Doesn't mean that 2013 will be less effective on Windows 7. Risk your system indeed....

Also just because you haven't had any issue on installing 2014, it doesn't mean everyone's experience will be the same or that issues won't develop along the way.
So enough of the hypothetical arguments. It's just a waste of space.

If you are a business user, as some on here are, then by all means pay for KIS.

For home users try opening a Barclays account and you can download for free.

I'd rather pay the £4 or so that it costs to get a licence, than to open a next to useless bank account...just my opinion.

every software. windows/adobe/KIS/norton etc. do you want me to go on all produce updated versions due to technology and security advancements and eventually older version will become EOL and not have any support or updates. this is a fact of any software.

    KIS support

So one can safely switch between 2012/2013/2014 if the situation calls for it.

2012 is also a 'stable' version.
Limited support. Meaning that the following services are available for the version:
rendering technical support over phone / web,
release of antivirus database updates (required to protect your computer/server/mobile device).

The only difference is the patches(unrelated to security issues) are no longer issued.

2013 may still have patches issued so that certain function remains compatible with the latest browsers etc.

2014 is released on the 27th of August in the UK.

    Please don't be boring.
