Quick query that I can't find the answer to on the Kaspersky site:

Do you have to uninstall KIS 2012 before installing KIS 2013?

Or does the new disk automatically do it for you?

Many thanks.

It should do it for you...but don't use the disc anyway. Get it from here

when you start the process from the disc it will look for earlier versions and remove them before installing the new version

You don't need to install anything. Just enter the new licence number from the new disk you have purchased into 2012.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

That's ok, but still don't use the disc, use the download and use the licence from the disc when necessary. Otherwise you'll have to do the same thing twice.

But what if they want to use 2013?

Anyway, bear in mind that Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 is released in the UK on the 27th.

If you can't wait, you can find it here

Kis 2014 is a straight install over 2013 and a five min or so setup then update it .

Oh that's great, so I don't have to do anything except put the disc in, what a relief.

I know a year or so ago you definitely had to uninstall the previous version.
