If Royal Mail had a parcel for you, I wouldn't expect them to ring you to come down either.

Google any courier or even Royal Mail and you will read horror stories.

For instance I moved and had my mail redirected. My old landlord received a card to say there was an item at the sorting office for me to collect. Now obviously I couldn't travel 200 miles to collect an item that at the time I had no idea even what it was. So very simple. Royal mail just redirect the item as they should to my new address. Six weeks of phone calls and e-mails and having to involve higher and higher up people till finally they redirected it to my new address. It turned out that it was an item I had sent to USA a month before I moved and had my old address as the return address.

Royal Mail Redirecting a returned item to a new address was just too much for them to handle.

So really you can jump up and down getting angry about My Hermes all you want but Royal Mail and all the other couriers are just as rubbish sometimes when things go wrong.
  • Hermes don't have depots you can collect from. It's all part of the low cost service. Simplicity. I don't think it's a major request to have a working doorbell if you're wanting a parcel delivered.

myHermes couriers have neither the time nor the funds to call every customer when they're outside, their round would literally take twice as much time, and at 20p per minute on most mobile networks, it would get expensive too. Lets say 3 mins per customer, 100 parcels, 300 x 0.2 = £60 per day. Plus that's 5 hours of phone calls per day.

Can I ask why the prickly rude attitude? It actually isn't that easy to find as they moved at the beginning of the year. Google is not as accurate with that kind of info as you obviously believe.

you could go on the myhermes site and call them and ask for the location and then check google maps. it may be at one of their parcelshops, so on their site look for find a parcelshop and check your area

I would say they could add that into their parcel costs, when arranging a collection with Hermes it does ask for recipients phone number in case they need to contact them and wont allow you to continue unless you add a phone number. You also dont get an automatic signature as you have to chose this at a further cost of £1

Its up to the recipient to ensure they have an accessible delivery point
you have no idea how much of a pain in the chuff it is dealing with flats you cant gain entry to
If you start phoning them, they will never get the intercom etc fixed!

Anyway... it never did turn up last night. Card this morning gives it a new twist.

Reads ' Parcel has been left at depot. Won't ring as my phone not a work on'

What use is a delivery driver without a phone???? I don't even know where the depot is. Can't get any sense out of Hermes themselves, they just want to blame the retailer but the driver employed or whatever by them is using their company stationery, of course I am going to call you too. Retailer gets fibbed too as well.

I don't even know where the sepot is in town. I know it's here though!!!

what use is a flat with no way of getting in?

loads of people use them because they are so cheap which is all most people/companies are bothered about
hermes don't care, 1 or 2 p1ssed off customers means nothing to them
    same goes for Yodel

I am genuinely shocked at that statement. Luckily it is due to buyers like you that I offer RM alongside MyHermes so my buyers can choose £4.20 with MYHermes or £8 with Royal Mail.

I generally click on "feedback left for others" and see negs like that and block the buyer for feedback misuse. That's any buyers, not just my buyers, such as when I look through the buyers of my competitors (similar products).

Well if you don't care about giving your customers a shoddy courier why expect them to care about you.

Good for you, another tightwad hoping to save a couple of pounds a week, doubt I'd be buying your tat so you'll be OK :).
