Just an update...
I applied for PIP 4th September 2013
Assessment 20th March 2014
Awarded enhanced care and standard mobility 15th April 2014
Requested a reconsideration and DWP received my letter detailing my request 30th April 2014
Letter came today dated 30th May to say that they have reconsidered my award and it is now enhanced care and enhanced mobility.
So the reconsideration process took a month or so. They quoted me 9-11 weeks so no complaints (for once!)0 -

That's great news! Really pleased to hear that something in the PIP system is working! Happy for you and fingers x'd for the rest of us!!0 -
Put my head over the parapet today and called ATOS. Report has gone to DWP! Didn't take their word for it and called DWP to check they had received it. Yep, looks like I'm on the home straight. Decided to give them two weeks before I call again. With any luck it'll be sorted before the 52 week mark without the need for any kind of appeal.0

After ringing everyday and after what seems like a lifetime I've finally got an appointment for a f2f interview with ATOS in 2 days time. The bloke on the phone was rather vague on what i need to take with me to the interview and because its in 2 days time he said its extremely unlikely that i would get a confirmation letter in time before this detailing what i need. Does anyone know what i need to take with me? My carer and practitioner are accompanying me but what paper work do i need to take i.e. ID etc.
Cheers0 -

There's a check list on ATOS' page. I think. You need two proofs of ID, I used my passport and bank card. Take details of all your medication (if you can take it with you even better) and anything that relates to how your health condition effects daily life, so appointment cards, consultant letters etc, they also want to know about any aids you use and they'll ask about your 'typical day' ( whatever one of those are). You can take somebody with you, if you want to you can take notes to help you through the assessment and even record it if you want, but you must tell them you're recording it if you do.
There were a couple of long posts from serendipity detailing the full experience, not sure if they're still on here. Basically I'd say take anything that will help you detail how your disability or condition effects day to day living. And be prepared to keep repeating yourself! I found that for most of mine I was just repeating what I'd already put in a fairly detailed claim form. Whether it helped me I'm not sure, will hopefully find out in a few weeks. I didn't find it too stressful it was more tiring than anything else both physically and mentally but the HCP was very understanding, seems most people have found that too.
Good luck!0 -
Hi all I've been following this thread for a while but not posted.
This is my journey so far applied 29th nov, recieved letter from capita dated 31st jan stating I would have a home visit on the week of 18-22nd jan. I rang capita and asked how is that possible when its feb and letter was dated 31st jan was told it's a mistake and I would get a new appointment through. I waited and didnt hear anything so rang capita and was told to just wait. Another week or so went by and I rang back and was offered one in a center in my town for the following week.
Had assesment 24th march lady was lovely and understanding however when she read her notes back to me there was 3 things wrong she said she would correct this and she will send it back to dwp within 5 week. I rang capita at least 1-2 times a week checking it wasnt just sat on a desk and always assured it was being dealt with I contacted my mp and made a complaint to capita they sent me their standard email saying they would look into it.
Then on 21st may I had a call from capita saying they recieved contact from mp and they looked into my report turns out my assesor had left and my assesment was just sat on a desk not completed but was assured it would be completed by a Senior health professional and hopefully they can complete it with the info they have from my form and what assesor had wrote, I expressed my concerns that there were bits wrong but I couldn't remember what bits but was told someone would call me if they needed more info.
Capita sent assesment on 27th may.
Dwp yesterday said they did not have it.
Today when I called dwp they said they had it since 30th may but was query so wasn't put on system till that query had been dealt with but that's sorted.
They said I will hear hopefully within 3 weeks.
Sorry for long post x0 -
Hi been following thread my oh applied in August kidney failure dialysis high blood pressure few other things finally
Got atos assessment feb phoned every week
Since told with decision maker. Finally phoned Friday told letter on way been award standard mobility enhanced care but as was in hospital between August and dec on and off ( never for more than 3 weeks at a time ) they would only back pay from dec which was a little disappointing. But at least positive outcome.
Was wondering anyone with positive outcome how long did it take for first payment ( really struggling financially) good luck to all waiting for decision.0 -
Little update with mine, now half way through week 35 since initial claim, 16 weeks since assessment, and despite previous phone calls which basically changed every time I called still not heard anything, mp was contacted also a complaint made to Capita they now have 3 days left to inform me of their investigation, I am hoping the investigation has pushed them into working on my file, as I have been told so many different things by them I don't believe a word they say anymore, going to wait until Monday and if I have not heard anything will attempt to call them and ask to speak to the lady who is investigating to see what she has to say, I know everyone has been on a long road with pip journeys but I think I must be on route 66 or something lol0
