Thank you for your response jo. On the phone to Capita they lead me to believe that the dwp would take 4 weeks to make a decision. I'll definitely take your words over Capita, they've been awful. I really have no clue why they take 5 months to get an assessment date. Either way I'll keep everyone posted with my progress and decisions and dates.

Made application on 20th December, waited a long 5 months till the 25th of April for an assessment on my mental health. Called them on the 12th of May and said hard copy is with the dwp. How long after everythings with the dwp does it take to receive a decision. If anyone knows please get back to me I'd be very grateful. Due to this new system I've been waiting pennyless since my claim.
    Hi
Have a read through the posts. There's lots of info here. Mine was 17 working days from when it was back at DWP, which was about 4 weeks

thanx blackwidowz. hopefully it will be tomorrow as im 2 days behind you on the timescale. when I spoke to them last week they said there was no point doing a call back as I probably wouldn't receive it before my decision. and that when ppl ask for one it just holds the dm up more, they are so full of it!! they complained at the amount of calls id made so I felt I had to explain myself. im so sick to death over this had to miss hydro therapy last week and really not up to physio this week.

That is terrible , the complaints lady did comment on how many times i called and she said don't worry , you can call how many times you want.. I would still request a call back as you can let them know the way you have been treated. Fingers crossed they do sort yours this week.. I feel alot better in my head now.. Missed not having to make my daily call lol. The mps are just getting back to me now too so will be filling them in on the system failures.

    Hi
I applied at the beginning of October and had my home assessment with Capita on 21st March after 3 cancellations, numerous phone calls and making a complaint. No decision has yet to be made. Will be calling again tomorrow! My assessor told me the process was taking on average 8 weeks from the assessment rather than the 6 weeks it was supposed to.

Check if the report has gone back to DWP and, if not, ask why not?

Daily phone call made still no decision keep being told won`t be much longer. Applied end August assessment 20 march and report received at DWP 30 April. Getting reallly fed up now not been out of the house now for 6 -7 weeks which is not helping my mental issues. Mp told me to get in touch with her if no decision by tomorrow so will be doing that
