Not to worry anybody but i sent my claim form in August 2013. I finally got an assessment on May 30 2014!! God knows how long I will have to wait for a decision.

I'm afraid I beat you! Claim started July 2013, finally had my assessment on Tuesday, 10th June! The next wait begins.

Hope we don't have to wait as long for the decision. Good luck.

Had my assessment this morning. The lady was lovely and far better able to articulate the problems that I have better than me. I found that she asked the right questions to get me to describe how I do things (I'm sure I'm not alone in having some interesting ways of getting round difficulties!) which all helped to build a bigger picture of how my life is on a daily basis.

No idea when I'll hear back as it has to go to the DWP now, but for anyone in my area (Notts with Capita), this has been the time scale for me:

Applied 30th Jan (earlier than I thought!)
    F2f 11th June
    Result...who knows

So not too bad so far, certainly not in comparison to some of the nightmares I've read on here. I might eat my words if I'm still waiting for a result in 6 months time :D

I live in Nottingham as well. I put my claim in on October 25th 2013, it was acknowledged by DWP in December, sent to Capita in January. Had home assessment booked for March 26th (my parents anniversary!), but they called to cancel the night before! Was rescheduled and had 5 weeks ago. DWP received electronic copy of report on Monday afternoon and still waiting for hard copy. Lady today said decision should be made within 3 weeks. As of today, at this point, I've been waiting for 33 weeks, as of tomorrow.

I think it's completely disgusting that when people have all the medical evidence possible that they have a disability and will never get better, and have doctors and consultants and scans and tests and everything that could possibly be needed to prove that this is 100% true, that we then have to wait a year for a failing assessment company to ignore us then briefly glance at us and then a few months later deign to decide if they think we are ill. I've been waiting for months and they've done !!!!!! all, I have no doubt I will be waiting a year before they possibly give me a f2f although I may not be around to have it, and we've tried updating them with my new circumstances but they have said that they will add those on during the f2f that I possibly will not be alive to have! And it was medical negligence that has made me this ill so I am having to start court proceedings against a former doctor and in amongst all of this I'm so skint I've had to use food banks and have got bailiffs writing to me because my health plummeted so rapidly both myself and my husband had to give up work (I am unable to do anything for myself, he has to be with me 24/7 at the moment).

Aaaarrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I hope IDS gets a mysterious disease and finds out what it's like to be on our end of his twisted system.
There is no shame in not knowing; the shame lies in not finding out.

It'll be interesting to see who gets a decision first then Mrs_Ryan and Sophies_mommy2001!

Just pleased the assessment is done, I was dreading finding out when it would be, so in some ways with them ringing me the night before it's worked out well.

Im ten days ahead of you putting in claim, currently mine is still with Capita, waiting to hear of them by 16th as to why I have been told so many stories by them, should be interesting to see what they have to say lol
  • I can't believe I'm saying this, but after 32 weeks, they said yes! It feels like a huge black cloud has been lifted. For anyone waiting whose claim was kept in audit or with DWP for a long time, have hope. I thought these were bad signs, but were obviously not. Good luck with your claims, it will end one day.

The continuing saga... I received two letters from ATOS this morning. One stating that they were still gathering further evidence and that they may invite me for a f2f. This letter was dated 10th June - the same day as my f2f!!

The second letter, also dated 10th June confirms that they had received the assessor's report (quick) and that it has been selected for audit! According to them it should only take a few days - won't hold my breath!

Thats great news did you get your mp involved as this seems to help speed things up, mine sped up dramatically since involving my mp.
I rang yesterday and was told I should have a decision by the end of next week but im expecting them to query something or just take longer so expecting it to be a few weeks yet. X
