Mackem mammy I am going through the same as you. DWP received my report on 30 April and I was told initially decision would be 2-3 weeks. This changed to 3-4, then I was told 4 weeks is the average time. So on 4 June, 5 weeks after receiving the report, DWP decided to send a query to Atos! I now wonder if my report was just sitting on a desk until then. Atos say they replied the same day, but DWP have still not logged the response. My assessment was 30 January and report was in audit until 27 April. I thought once it got to DWP it would be quick. How wrong I was! I applied for PIP 30 October, so 32 weeks on, I'm very stressed and losing hope.

This made me anxious! So called earlier to check report still with DWP and not sent back to ATOS. Still there. Still no decision but told was worked on last week and could have final decision any time. Advised to call again on Friday. Call handler noted that I'd had to involve my MP and suggested that claim now marked as urgent. From posts here and elsewhere looks like most are being dealt with at this urgent/slow pace.

According to statistics only 25% of all claims received from claimants with out special rules have been processed. Can't see the average waiting times starting to decreasing anytime soon.

I applied 5 months ago and they've only just put me onto the system, so it will be another few months before I get considered for a possible f2f which will be a few more months.... funnily enough we have since discovered my condition is potentially fatal and much worse than we knew in February but if we reapply the process will have to start from scratch and they won't amend the original application at all, and so I will most likely have died by the time my claim is processed..... which I guess is what they hope for!!

Really sorry to hear that but hope you stay with us for a damn long time. When I had my assessment yesterday (after waiting 11 months!) the assessor told me that any of my issues that were worse since I originally applied or were new would be taken into account when he did the report. So I'm sure your change of circumstance (?) would also be taken into account.

However, if this is now an emergency / terminal issue I think they deal with them very quickly. There is a different form to fill in but I believe these are actioned within a couple of weeks. Speak to the DWP and ask for their advice. Good luck and keep us informed on your claim as well as your health. Su
  • I got my call back from a lovely person who is also the DM. She has received the answers from Atos and will make her decision tomorrow! I actually thought this day would never come. Won't be able to sleep now until I know the decision, just hope it's a yes.

So sorry to hear of your health issues and sorry if my post made you anxious. Wondering if it may be worth you sending out further information to the DWP so they may deal with your claim quicker? It is a very stressful time, until this process, I would never have believed any application for any benefit could possibly take this long. Some people can't even get an assessment date, so I suppose I was lucky to get one in 3 months. Good luck with your claim and hope there is some positive news on your health issues.

Had my assessment this morning. The lady was lovely and far better able to articulate the problems that I have better than me. I found that she asked the right questions to get me to describe how I do things (I'm sure I'm not alone in having some interesting ways of getting round difficulties!) which all helped to build a bigger picture of how my life is on a daily basis.

No idea when I'll hear back as it has to go to the DWP now, but for anyone in my area (Notts with Capita), this has been the time scale for me:

Applied 30th Jan (earlier than I thought!)
    F2f 11th June
    Result...who knows

So not too bad so far, certainly not in comparison to some of the nightmares I've read on here. I might eat my words if I'm still waiting for a result in 6 months time :D
  • After being told dwp had my report since 30th may I got the standard letter today saying we have all reports and info we need etc this was dated 5th june, my question is.
1- is this sent automatically or sent when someone starts looking at the claim.
2- how long after receiving this letter did people get a decision.
My claim is now in week 28 and because the assesor who did my assessment left before she finished completing my form so it had to be finished by a senior health professional ive convinced myself there will be queries so will take ages still.
Any advice would be appreciated thankyou. X

    Hi there
If my decision is made tomorrow, as promised, it will be 6 weeks since DWP received my report. But every one is different, I suppose it depends on how complicated they are. I believe the average wait is 4 weeks.
  • Not to worry anybody but i sent my claim form in August 2013. I finally got an assessment on May 30 2014!! God knows how long I will have to wait for a decision.

That is shocking! I hope your report isn't held up like so many others. What area are you in?
