It's not normal behaviour at all.

Littering, vandalism and smoking drugs are not normal family activities. Chucking your children out in the street every day until night time is not normal either. Letting them scream and shout at each other to the point where they bother your neighbours so much that they complain isn't normal either.

OP - the only way you can deal with this is to complain. If you can't complain directly to them because they are intimidating, then complain formally. And keep a diary.

I have three kids and they have NEVER behaved in any way like you describe. I would be equally annoyed if my every day was disturbed like yours has been. It's your summer too!

I have two children (7 and 11). They get up around 9 at the moment, have brekkie, get washed and changed. You can guarantee that a couple of their friends will be already knocking the door and they will be out into the street. There are 9 children in this street around the same ages and others that come up here to play. They eat lunch outside (front garden picnics). They have the scooters, bike, and badminton sets out. They come in for tea, and are then back out until bedtime. Usual practice here for the holidays and the weekends. (Sometimes there's even a water fight). No eggs, no graffiti - just fun xx

  • They shut themselves in the kitchen and blow the smoke out the extractor fan towards my house - screaming at the kids if they come near.

It's a terrace so the next room is the next house. The smoke permeates through from next door.

Yesterday, a police car was called to an address nearby and the children were roared at to shut the front door fast so the police didn't come near.

I'm not against kids playing. I get it. It's the summer, it's a quiet cul-de-sac and children should get out in the good weather.

However, egging my doorstep, dropping food on the pavement when there are signs advising residents about vermin (the rats are HUGE ) and roaring and screaming til all hours - it's too much.

Right now they're playing R 'n' B and the music won't stop until long after 21:00.

The family the other side have elderly relatives and shift workers like me.

EDT: Bleach. I've used a strong bleach solution and a soft cloth and the dirt/ink is gone. The gouges are still there but they're less visible.

And she's loudly complaining about the smell of the bleach in a theatrical, so I can hear it kind of way.....

Ugh! She sounds like an utter PAIN.

Out of interest, the windowsill scratching: did they actually *write* anything? Anything that could identify culprit?

I think I might pop round and just do the "Could you keep an eye out for me while you're watching the kids: some git has egged my front door and scratched me windowsill... Let me know if you see anyone. It's hard to keep an eye on it meself, 'cuz I work shifts down at the Nick, so I'm asleep in the day and can't check.."

You should certainly go round, but don't even suggest it was *their* wildlings that did it...They may go straight back indoors, clip the kids round the earhole and tell them to leave you alone, but this 'type' will almost certainly go uber feral defensive if you even imply it was their kids.

Nope. Just up and down zig zags like they were trying to draw something.

On the one hand.......:rotfl: On the other hand.........No. Telling them when the house can be burgled is just tempting fate.

It's been raining, so there's no one out and about.

I'm thinking about matching their noise levels - I've got a lot of sanding to do tomorrow......:D
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

I don't buy all this kids will be kids stuff - I was a kid once, I played out in the holidays but I did not SHOUT, scream, swear and generally be a complete disturbance! Smoking drugs is not normal and I'd be calling the police on them by now.

Do they live on the third floor?

    If not [shrug].

But it was only just after 6 at this point, and so what..my kids have been known to do this, my windows are very low to the ground...but I don't see how this is impacting on your life...unless it was your windows...
Its all mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter:rotfl:

Can you seriously not see the problem with this? Or are you just trolling? Words fail me...
