You haven't included catflap fitting costsclippy_girl wrote: »in other news i am hopefully getting a cat :j have reserved him and just got to wait for homevisit. obv this is going to be an expense but will be worth it! cat is £55 , catflap will be £70 (need microchip one as so many cats around here) and stuff will be around £60 ish

just had a bit of an ebay sesh

listed 1 of the charms from a ms (waiting on second report to be approved before i list the second!)
listed dvd set for £25
Sergei toy
hamster cage and all accessorizes (collection only)
rm postage was a rip off- would be over £5 for sergi and over £8 for charm SD! used courier comparison and both for hermes is £3.50 sergei and £5.20 charm (paid for insurance). need to check with RM though as it says 1st class is insured up to £50 so would cover charm but not sure if it excludes jewellery. cant see on website. that would be cheaper.
only been on one hour and hamster stuff has 5 watchers and £25 dvd has 2
others have 1 :T :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Oops the eBay website is different from the app- those figures are views not watchers

so update time again! its that annoying week before pay and rent days!
so have got my cat! he is lovely! likes to paint/draw on my windows for me with his wet dusty paws!
money wise is getting a wee bit confusing as got various payments in/out.
total in current account is £135, the same as the credit card. so need to clear that. £40 of the credit card is for a charm bought on a ms that i will be reimbursed for but not til end of oct so want to pay it off spends cc and then will use money when it comes in towards debt cc. only listed it last night on ebay and has already sold
also had to buy £56 train ticket . would have used weekly spends next week but friend ordered it to get discount so had to transfer the money. so will transfer weekly spends back. will need to wait a week or so to get a better idea of where i stand!
mortgage valuation came in at what i wanted so i need to pay approx £1200 of my current mortgage as had to borrow a bit less to hit 80% ltv. worth it though as mortgage is now £33pm cheaper for 5 years
so for now it is pay minimum on debt cc and save rest up towards mortgage. wont know exact amount until mid nov when i get redemption figure but estimate it will be around that so i will save that. will easily be doable by end of nov
then need to sort out india if i am going in march. will probably pay for flight and tour and save spends dec-mar so will balance transfer most of whats left on debt cc in jan when 0% runs out. need to get it down to just under £3k and i can just bt it onto my virgin card as it always has 0% offers. although could prob just increase limit as ive had it for at least 4 years i think. if i do manage to get it down to 3k then debt free date will be oct 2014 which is only 1 month later than planned and i will have paid £1200 off mortgage also :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
have sold a few items to get some extra cash

sold £13 of items at work
sold dvd for £22 on ebay (but person paying next weekend)
also sold a book last night on ebay for £6.50
but have a confession- forgot to cancel the bloody credit monitoring things grrrrrrrrrrrr  two of them so that amounts to £25 wasted
so annoyed
have signed up to 3 magazine trials, all 3 for £3 and have decent free gifts. will keep all the gifts till nov then ebay
(dont worry i have put a reminder in my phone to cancel them!!!
) :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
just wrote a massive post and cat jumped on keyboard and closed window

its doom and gloom here as found out work will be making 20% of our dep redundant
will be staged over 2 years so few will go before april and then rest before next april. not concerned about this year as there a few that want voluntary but next yr is a concern as there will not be enough ppl that want to go.
new mortgage should be fine as i did not know when i signed the declaration on the app form and i have not been given notice yet. just hope they dont later request work references as completion is not till dec _pale_
main issue is mpi is with current mortgage co and booklet says it only covers their mortgages and is cancelled when mortgage is cancelled. will speak to a broker but think its unlikely i can get a new policy.
so have developed a little plan and i wont go to india in march.
sept and oct- will save the £1200 needed for new mortgage. this is doable based on fact i have £364 already in the mortgage savings account and based on what will be coming in by end of oct.
nov and dec- pay around £1200 off cc. should be doable as will have around £100 left over after mortgage payment, getting my £50 m&s vouch i can sell/use instead of food budget, £24 pet ins cashback, few things on ebay i can sell for around £20 each and normal ms and rent.
jan- bt cc onto 0% card i already have and set up dd for min.
will then save extra income each month (should be £550 min) so i have cash available should i need it.
june- i will have saved min £3300 which will be £300 more than needed to clear cc.
july-dec- further £3300 saved so total of £3600 in savings if i clear cc.
so will then have £3600 saved, enough to clear cc as well and my £3000 redundancy pay which is a much better situation.
should i find out earlier i have not been made redundant i could pay off cc and go india in oct 2014 if i know by then. otherwise i can go march 2015 and will still be debt free.
working out the plan has at least let me know i could survive on the minimum for around a year if i lost my job which is much more reassuring

so now doom and gloom is out of way i need to forget about it and carry on as normal.
plans for today are-
do 2 x ms

make soup
feed friends cats
overtime this evening:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Think about the redundancies so far. No surprises - you worked out who would go. Now do the same going forward - seriously, how likely is it you would be selected?
