Housemate threatened me to leave

Put the cups (unwashed) back in his room with a note that the sink has been emptied and will in future remain clear, as long as he doesn't leave his dirty cups there again.0

OP, if it was such a simple task then why didn't he do it before he left? Anyhow, lowering yourself to his level would just be petty, so if I was you I'd just reaffirm that you're happy to tidy up after yourself, so you expect the same from him.
wont let me post?????????it might not be much, but its better than a kick in the teeth:rotfl:

I'd leave him a note saying 'clean up your own !!!!!!'.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

I think putting the cups back in his room saying that the sink is now clear is a great idea.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Seriously - There were over a dozen glasses in the sink for over a week and no-one moved them or cleaned them? Did no-one use the sink for a week ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

They were placed in a large bowl. I moved it aside, used the sink, and placed it back
Part of me also thought he cleaned it and just made the mess again, because he does drink a lot of alcohol. Since he never told me he's going to be away for some days, I had no reason to think this is the same mess that's left for days and days. What I did do for him or maybe another housemate though is throw out the mouldy milk still in the fridge.
I left him a note saying I need to talk to him about this face to face, and I'll also record everything just in case.0 -

Thinking back to my flat sharing days I think there is more to this than you are saying. It sounds awfully petty to clutter up the kitchen with a bowl of dirty glasses for a week when you used the sink anyway and it would have taken minutes to do them. The fact you are thinking of recording the conversation sounds even pettier....what would you DO with such a recording anyway ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Well yes...anyway, it doesn't sound like they were his glasses by the tone of his note, tbh. Sure he just hadn't picked them up from random places round the flat where other folk had left them?Val.0 -

I don't think it's petty moving the cups aside. A responsible adult should clean up after himself. Why wouldn't I record the conversation? He's already written me a ridiculous note putting the blame on me. If he gets aggressive I'll have evidence. I'm not taking any chances.0
