I like pay at pump too, only issue for me is when the machine will not read points card and you have to enter the store anyway.
The Morrisons ones do allow this but I'm not sure about others.

Some places people are too scared to use them e.g. Asda.
Scared of what? Card cloning? Surely all of the CCTV cameras around petrol stations would make this a fairly low risk?

I'm confused by the system discussed above that involves queuing twice? I've never come across anything like that.

Never bought anything at Argos then?

    Queue to pay
    Queue to get the item

    :)

How does it work if you prepay for say £40 and you can only get £35 in, how do you get your "change"

If you pay cash you collect the cash balance - if on card the transaction is corrected to the actual amount.

Does the anpr system mean if someone steals your numberplate and uses it for bilking, then your plate is forever blacklisted?
So you could even buy a car that has been used for biking and never get any more petrol.

if its reported stolen then no you wont get blacklist for bulking, although, could pose a issue with the plate being marked with police ANPR.

    Is that legal?

No it's not..he said "by choice" and he doesn't have that choice..

Basically if someone drives off with £75 quid of fuel and doesn't pay @ around 7p gross margin on a litre thats a lot of litres to sell to recoup the loss..and if you get a few drive offs a day....
The Early bird may catch the worm ...but its the second mouse that gets all the cheese!

Let me check I've understood you. You are saying that the manager of a branch of a major UK supermarket is knowingly breaking the law by discriminating against foreign drivers?

I don't know what they are scared of. It is merely and observation.

    Which law would that be?
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
