  • Only up-date today is that this morning the rspca man came back, and checked that both the front and back door had not been opened, which they had not. He's coming back tomorrow to gain entry from the housing association. I'm off tomorrow, but I do have to nip out at dinner for a hour or 2, but another neighbour is going to keep look out.

1st thing tomorrow me and others are going to get onto the housing association.

I've continued to put the food and ice cubes through the front door.

soz about my little rant last night, but I just couldn't break the window. Maybe if i'd not gone down what I saw as the right road, then I would have.

well done for everything you are doing, we are all on your side, it's just some of us do things different ways, lets hope today brings some good news
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Thanks for this. Keeping everything crossed that the cat is hanging in. Thanks for looking after its welfare. It is very much appreciated!

Yes we kept the dog until he died which was about 10 years. He was always very timid but a lovely boy. Me and OH couldn't argue because a slightly raised voice and he would just shake and wet himself. He was also scared of newspapers so obviously had been hit with one.

OH had gone to the house and asked the owner if he wanted to rehome the dog, even offered a small amount of money but the owner just gave a load of abuse. He never took any action about OH breaking in

So good to hear of animals getting a second chance at a better life.

My Mum rehomed a dog that was terrified of nearly everything. He hated carrier bags.........what was that all about ? he would squeeze past anyone going through a doorway as if he was terrified you were going to shut him in,and you could not even get hold of a torch or he would shake terribly. We reckoned he had probably been shut in a shed in the dark and a torch shone on him when (or if) he got thrown food. Then the door would have shut on him again.

Makes you want to weep but he,like you, had 10 very happy years and he and my Mum who got him after my Dad died ,for company, were devoted to each other. He would come and stay with us if she was away but was always looking for her to walk back in.

We all cried buckets the day he collapsed with an undiagnosed tumour on his spleen. He was very fearful of the vets and he had shown no symptoms.Mum could not bear for him to suffer being operated on and left at the vets for days, with little hope of recovery anyway,so she let him go.

She still has his ashes in a lovely wooden box in her bedroom which is where he slept .

How can people be so cruel? Why bother having any animal if you are not going to give it any love and attention?

Rang housing association this morning, they've been out to look at the property about 30 mins ago.
They've spoke to her his morning, but they can't tell me anything?
I asked about the cat, they said that they didnt' know what I was on about, but had heard that the rspca was involved...........
Told them the tale all over again, the looked through the letter box and said there's no cat in there.

Told them it was there when 4 of us neighbours looked through the letter box the other day. And all what's been going on.

The went off and said they would investigate more.

As of yet, they've not been, the tape is still over the front door, but the seal is now broke on the back gate, because of the housing association officer.

They really are all pretty useless aren't they? Let's hope if you thought it was a child in there they would actually manage to do something without having to think about it for days.

It must be upsetting and annoying for you OP. I'm not blaming you in any way and I think you have already done more than some people would for an animal, particularly a cat as so many people seem to hate them but their inaction is precisely why I would have lied to start with when phoning the police and/or housing association and said there could be a child and/or adult in there. It's not right to have to lie but in my experience the RSPCA and the police are both pretty useless in a lot of situations. Never had any dealings with a housing association but, on the basis of this, they don't seem much better
The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie

How about you PM the address to one of us who could then put in an anonymous call? ;)
