WHY?
If you mean it says only to be used in Europe.
The OP has a European generator, this converts a European socket to English.

He don't have to take the generator back abroad to use it. I stupidly used the word plug rather than socket in my earlier post, and then confused myself about what the problem was, doh! I'll shut up now!

A simple EU socket is fitted now, it looks that way to me anyway, it's not the industrial UK type I know that much.
I'm being told by others that I must use a waterproof plug/ extension/ converter and so the above just won't do?
However I'm completely unsure again now eeekkk :-(0 -
Not if that current rating is 7.8 amps (which is how it looks in the image).“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

If you can unscrew the socket plate, you can either replace it with a UK socket OR, replace it with a piece of nonconductive material, drill a hole in the middle, buy an IP rated cable gland (as below) and hard wire (using big high current rated connector blocks) an outdoor socket to the generator.
Like I say though, hard to be exact without seeing it, but i'm 100% sure that whatever the configuration i'd have a good/safe plan. Can't really go wrong as long as you remember to use parts/cable that are rated above the maximum load.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Thank you! It's appreciated. I'm having problems finding anyone to do the work for me, I think that most do not want these small jobs as there is little money in it.
Unfortunately I don't know anybody that will do this, so I'm a bit stuck :-/0 -
Ok this would be a better and safer option, as long as the generator is under cover

And this with RCD trip switches.

That's not suitable for outdoor use.
This type would be safer: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/240V-16A-PANEL-SOCKET-amp-volt-caravan-hook-generator-228552-/221204903878?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item3380d6f7c60 -
Thanks, so is the above completely safe and just the same as using a generator with a UK socket fitted, I'm used to using the industrial style blue socket and this appears some what safer just in my opinion. Thanks again
The blue socket is safer, as shown in my link in my post above.0
