Generator Problem, Help plz?

Hi All, hope you can help me?
I purchased a generator from eBay and it arrived today.
It's a 2 stroke, so I have to mix the fuel and so on, so that's not too bad.
Only issue is the socket is EU and not UK, so how on earth can I convert this.
The generator is going to be used outside at all times in all weathers, I'm going to get a tent to cover it (purpose made) so the rain does not cause any issues.
However I'm concerned that now having to use some sort of converter is going to cause a health and safety risk.
Can anyone help me, I'm really worried and need to start using this in theory from Saturday

If it were me, i'd remove the existing socket and fit a UK standard one....
Or open up the existing one, disconnect it and hard wire in an extension lead with the equivalent number of sockets.
Hard to say without seeing it though. Are you sure it doesn't just have heavy duty 16Amp industrial sockets rather than EU?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

You just need to remove the EU plug and fit a UK one. If you don't know how to do this then find someone who does, but it's not difficult.0

We had one that used the industrial style blue socket and plug, but this one is much smaller and I think it's two pin.
There are screws to remove the socket, but I have no idea what I'm doing.
I was hoping that I could get something similar to the blue plug that would connect it all up with some sort of converter.
But do you think this can be safe? Considering we now need to start converting the socket over.
I may worry too much, but I just didn't expect it to be EU. Thanks again.0 -
Just use a conversion lead; like an extension lead but with whatever plug you need on the end.0

Oh, so it's quite normal then. I thought I was going to be told it's a write off really Now to find someone in one day lol0 -
But wouldn't doing that be dangerous when this is out in the rain, of course I'm using a cover for it, but still it's rather more open than being indoors? Thanks so much!0

Thanks, so is the above completely safe and just the same as using a generator with a UK socket fitted, I'm used to using the industrial style blue socket and this appears some what safer just in my opinion. Thanks again0

Isn't that the exact opposite of what is needed?0 -

You've used to 16 amp, strider asked about that. What's fitted now?0
