Just had a mechanic down he said all I need is a bumper and new headlight there are small scuffs and dents which can be repaired , a good bumper is around £50 inc delivery , or I may just repair it and sell it for 2.9k which pays off my loan and leaves me with some change0

Your insurance will likely pay out to the third party as you were insured at the time the accident occurred.
I always thought if you didn't disclose something to your insurance company then had an accident they wouldn't cancel the policy as long as you paid the backdated extra premium?
They will pay the third party claims then they may chase you for the costs incurred doing so.
As for the damage, as others have mentioned if you're handy with DIY or similar and the mounting points for the bumpers and light are all ok then you could get the parts cheaper from a breakers yard or ebay (search for an accident damaged car similar to yours)
If any of the mounting points for the lights or bumpers are damaged and can't be easily replaced then repairs might cost a fair bit more.
As others have mentioned as well i'd probably look to selling the car on once repaired. With the previous ban, points, at fault accident and cancelled policy your premium will increase quite a bit.All your base are belong to us.0 -
I was insured during the incident happened , if they pay out for third party then It would be great , as the policy was cancelled my dad who was the policy holder is now stuffed, he has got over 15 years NCB on another car, indeed it would be astronomical0

As mentioned they should pay out for the third party, but they may chase either you or your dad for the money they're paying out and any other costs incurred.
Were you just driving the car as a one off, or was it mainly for your use?
You'd be best advising your dad to tell his current insurance company on the other car everything that's happened as well and get it all sorted rather than have them find out them self later and get another cancelled policy. All your base are belong to us.0 -

Only if they voided it back to inception. If they've cancelled it from today or the date of notification then it will still be in MID for the period that the car was still theoretically on cover.0 -

(Ignoring innocent non disclosure) Only providing they would have insured you in the first place had the correct information been declared. If they would not have Insured you then they can void the policy.
If it had been a deliberate non disclosure then they would normally void the policy and seek reimbersement for any monies paid to the third party. It's much easier for Insurers to determine deliberate non non disclosure as customers often get online quotes with say the ban disclosed and then without and go with the cheaper quote. They don't take into account Insurers tend to log all their quotes so can see the quote with the non disclosed item on it0 -
I got done for careless driving and got a 4 month ban and they said I didn't disclose it and they are correct I checked the policy documents and it says a fine but no ban
It depends on the questions asked but if you can make a case that the non disclosure was inadvertent or innocent then do so as it will probably get your insurance reinstated so claims would be paid as normal and you don't have have a cancelled policy (££££) on your record.

It was mainly for my use, my dad also has another policy on his car with the same insurer, so I am pretty much screwed myself and screwed my dad up0 -
