Giving 30 days notice

I will be leaving my first mobile contract to go back to PAYG.

I have to give 30 days notice and I also want my PAC code.

My contract ends 20th September
I pay monthly and they take the money on the 8th/9th of each month and bill me on the 27th of each month

Do I give my 30th days notice AND request my PAC code on the 21st August? (30 days from the contract end)

or will they need 30 days notice from their billing date?

I am pretty sure it is the 21st August I need to contact them, but I want to make sure

You can't give notice and request a PAC. Its one or the other.

Your best bet is to get the PAC and use it to move to another networks payg. Your current network will then bill you for any days remaining.

But to leave a contract you have to give them 30 days notice? Is requesting the PAC definitely giving my 30 days notice?

And is it August 21st that I do this?

Requesting the PAC is effectively giving notice. But you HAVE TO USE THE PAC to fully cancel the contract.

Once you have the PAC you can use it to transfer your number to another network. Once you've done that your contract with the old provider is finished.
