Orange disgrace: How much to charge for my time?

I am making a CISAS claim vs Orange (thieving conniving b******s) who owe me over £200. Orange have come back and are stating that my claim should be dismissed because they believe my account has been credited and that I am lying. It HAS NOT been credited, and their response has made me even more furious than I already was. (Although slightly irrelevant, I practice Buddhist virtues, one of which is complete honesty, so this was a particularly insulting response).

So I'm putting my evidence together, and want to substantiate the additional costs and compensation I am asking for.

I need a reasonable cost to charge (and probably need to provide explanations for the amount requested) for each of the following items:
  • My time per hour
  • Interest on the amount owed
  • Distress and inconvenience

Thanks very much to everyone who is willing to help me out here. :o

This could give you an idea of what levels of compensation you could potentially claim:

So without the profanity.... what actually happened? The post isn't all that clear.

    Thanks for that arcon5.

    Precis of what happened:

    - I asked Orange for a PAC code in December, but didn't use it. Charged £80 which I didn't notice til March.
    - Spoke to Orange who agreed they were wrong, gave me a credit of £15 and said the amount would be refunded
    - I used another PAC code in April and switched mobile providers
    - Was charged by Orange (despite switching) for two individual bills
    - I called several times on several occasions and kept being told they would credit the account but didn't
    - Wrote a letter which explained the situation and received a reply saying the problem had been resolved
    - Spoke to someone at Orange again who promised to help me on X date at X time by phonecall and didn't receive anything back
    - Wrote to CISAS

I'm not entirely sure what I can claim for in reference to the above - in total hard money (including the amounts of compensation I was promised) everything adds up to £211.

Your time per hour, what do you get paid at work? That is usually seen as a reasonable value for your time.
Interest I'd say charge the standard rate of 8% PA.
Distress and inconvenience? Zero. Sticking with quantifiable losses only is always the best option.

Where they say "they believe my account has been credited and that I am lying", are they perhaps saying that they have refunded the money to you account with Orange... so that account is now in credit. Or perhaps you are assuming they are talking about your bank current account?

You (and they) need to be quite clear about which account is being talked about, and you original post is not clear on that point.

Did they really say you were lying?
Please keep any comments to facts.

I take on board your comments- I'm sure you can understand that my emphatic language used within the forum is because of my anger and irritation, and is not reflective of my address of Orange during correspondence.

The majority of the transcript was in legal jargon, and the precise term used was 'The respondent denies the claimant's claim' and 'the respondant denies liability to the claimant as pleaded or at all, either contractually or otherwise and submits therefore that the claimant's claim in its entirety should be dismissed'. << it was these two inflammatory comments that lead me to the juncture of Orange suggesting that my comments are lies.

Wealdroam, yes I thought the same thing. Verbatim, the comment says 'on 5th June 2013 a total credit of £115.55 was applied to the account to cover the fact that the claimant had not used the PAC code and the charges that has been applied as a result'. I assumed this must mean their internal account in my name as nothing has been credited to me, but in speaking to CAB they suggested that it mean my bank account... Either way I haven't received anything into my bank on that date or any other time.

Since my previous post, I have written to my bank to ask for written confirmation that no credit has been received by Orange, and the govt office of statistics to get the average hourly amount for someone of my position. I have also asked for my new mobile provider to send written evidence of the date I ported to the new network which for some reason Orange is claiming happened in June when it happened in April (their excuse for not paying me back the bills they charged me for).

    Hope that clarifies my post!

Thanks again for your helpful input.

@NiallB Yep, I realised after writing that irate post that I wasn't showing much control or compassion! Haha, but I'm definitely succeeding in the honesty department ;)

    - also HHDL wouldn't suggest that one should let somebody/ people use treat them badly.

I guess I also wouldn't be so attached to my material possessions like money either. We're opening up a totally unrelated philosophical debate eh!

don't understand, if you didn't use your pac code, why were they wrong to bill you?
