Orange disgrace: How much to charge for my time?

Your logic for quantifying the cost of your time is completely flawed, even if the advice did come from the CAB.
If it gets to court the judge will ask you how much you earn.
Think about it, please, engage your brain and do not follow blindly what CAB tell you, they may be well meaning but they are wrong as often as they are right.
My salary band for my job in my company ranges from £44k to £66k with the average being £55k. I earn near the lower end, why would it be reasonable for me to submit a claim based on a salary I do not earn? It appears you are looking at ways to try and inflate your claim and any half decent judge will see right through your ruse. If you do this you may even get yourself on the wrong side of the judge and whilst they are supposed to be impartial, they are, after all, human.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
Basically I still can't see what Orange have done wrong. The original PAC wasn't used but that's the op's fault.
When cancelling my contract a couple of months ago I asked for the PAC & emailed to cancel. I got a letter confirming my contract would end of the 9th of July, this would be whether I used my PAC or not. It doesn't look like the op did anymore than just ask for the PAC. The only reason they ask why and tell you it will cancel it is because like most people if you actually use it your contract does get cancelled!
Op, as far as I can see you only requested a PAC and never cancelled your contract otherwise.0 -
When I called Orange initially to ask why I was still getting billed, they said 'oh your new network hasn't used the PAC properly'. New network sai they had and communicated with Orange (this was in June). When speaking to Orange on the phone, they apologised and said yes I see that, we'll give you the money for those bills back. Unless they've suddenly changed their policy, I'm certain I'm right.
Will be asking for transcripts of the conversations in my response. Please respond to mine and others' posts with courtesy and kindness- and I will not deliberately disrespect you. Down with the trolls!0 -

In your original post you talk about £80 from December to April which will be your fault for not using the PAC. Are you now saying you got charged beyond April when you did use the code?
Whatever happened before April you owe. If you actually used the PAC in April then yes you have got a case but forget about anything before you used the PAC, you owe that.0 -

A mobile phone network will bill a customer for leaving before the end of their contractual period. So had I used the PAC code in December, I would have been billed the equivalent for the remaining months of my contract- which would have been 4 months being as the contract ended in April.
I am going to close this thread, many thanks to those who have helped with the information that I initially requested.
If anyone is in a similar scenario with their network and would like further information about my experience please let me know. Please respond to mine and others' posts with courtesy and kindness- and I will not deliberately disrespect you. Down with the trolls!0
