Neighbours left this note at the bottom of our stair >>

Why hasn't it been fixed yet? You have had 6 months to order the parts needed. You either want the bike or you just enjoy winding your neighbours up, either dump it, put it on your landing or get it fixed and use it.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

There's nothing wrong with your neighbour's note but I detect something wrong with your attitude and your reaction to said note.
Pop down and have a sensible adult conversation about it. DO NOT respond with another note!
This is a bit like trying to help a kid in primary school, not a grown adult....0 -
Lol!! Ok! Thanks everyone for your opinions!0

They didnt leave their flat number or anythig so, I could go down to their flat and ask if it was them.
Also the bike is not an 'eyesore'. Her furniture there for a year was a lot worse but you didn't hear anyone complaining
I'm not that bothered about it. My initial post was asking whether or not the council had regulations regarding bikes. Not anyone's opi ion on the note left or the action I should take. I'm not goo g to move the bike anywhere. I'm going to tell her it's ours and the issue with keeping it on our landing.
I don't see a problem with anything I've said. I found her note a tad rude and that's my opinion as you are also entitled to you Ltd.0 -

You've not taken on board anything people have said!
Have you established who owns the property/ what the lease says about storing items in the hallway? I'm guessing not ...0 -
I'm at work just now so I can't at the moment. My SO is going to email our landlord!0

Look, if the bike's so important to keep, then you've got to make room for it in your flat.
It's your bike.

No idea about the bike but I like your nail polish. What's it called and who makes it?
We live on the 5th floor in our flat. My OH has kept his bike at the bottom underneath the stair. It has been there for 2 years without any problems. OH uses the bike but about 6mths ago a part of it broke and he has to order a new part to get it fixed.
This area under the stair is not blocking anyone's way, it doesn't block any fire exits, it doesn't stop anyone from holding the rail or anything. It is literally underneath the staircase out of everyone's way.
Previously, the neighbour who wrote this letter had also kept their old furniture and paintings under there which they recently cleared.
Our neighbours across from us keep plants on our landing, they are elderly and our landlord has told us that they have done this since he lived there (early 80s). In other words there's no place for the bike to go on our landing. Unless we put it on the railing but this sounds dangerous to me.
My question is...does that piece of stair belong to Flat #1? Or not? I noticed this morning that there are bits of MDF outside their flat and under the stair, so I'm assuming they left that note purely to use that space for themselves.0
