after reading this thread thought id give it a go so went to aldi this week so far everything we have tried has been lovely vegetable samosas were yummy lol. i kept my receipt and iv just done a comparison on tesco website including value products were we would of normally bought them. i spent 43.22 in aldi the tesco price would of been 62.01 thats a difference of 18.79  unbelievable i new it was slightly cheaper but i wasnt expecting that. guess where im shopping from now on especially as its NEXT DOOR to tesco :rotfl:
also shopping on my own with a baby and toddler it was so much quicker and easier i normally have to struggle with a screaming baby and a bored toddler trying to climb out of the trolly or go after OH gets in from work.:coffee:i find a cup of tea can solve most problems:coffee:
 but alcohol solves them all

I shopped in Aldi last week and found that my shopping bill was more than my usual at Tesco. Some of the food I thought was great quality and some was not.
I online shop with Tesco as I am a sucker for deals so perhaps this was my downfall at Aldi?0 -

I've had Aldi and Lidl carrots covered in black spots less than 24 hours after buying, tried keeping them in brown bags in the cellar fridge and allsorts, the only way to keep them is to peel immediatly top and tail and put in water in the fridge. Would really like to know what they do to fruit and veg to make them this bad.0 -

went to Aldi today for the 2nd time. The quality is rubbish. Yes the prices are decent but the quality is honestly poor.
Breaded chicken steaks, £1.99 but only 53% chicken. Who would buy them. Tesco, Morrisons etc 63% chicken.
Chicken Kiev was 45% chicken, very dissapointing.

Aldi have been voted supermarket of the year by Which (2013).Who would subscribe to the magazine on their vote.No way can Aldi be supermarket of the year.0

How can Aldi be supermarket of the year when they have stupid rules, take a bloody age to refund things and half their FnV stuff is rubbish?
I live alone and I don't buy a lot in Aldi, but you are not allowed to take the basket through the checkout and dump your shopping in there, before payment - to pack behind the tills. So I have to either push a trolley around with 7-10 items or be very quick with packing things. Why can't we take the baskets with us through the checkouts as the Aldi which I use, the basket piles at the entrance are reachable from the exit and just throw them on there.
If you are returning something that costs more than £10, there is a very long form the cashiers fill in. They need a separate customer service desk. Does not have to be manned all the time, but the cashiers see someone at the CSD, they ring a different bell to the one when more checkouts need opening.
I refuse to buy certain fruit and veg from Aldi. Satsumas, kiwis, plums for them being either being hard or tasteless. Veg includes cabbage as they all tend to have brown bits in them and onions which I pay 49p for a bag and have to sling out all but 3 of them because they are mouldy. I purchased 3 loose onions in Sainsburys and it cost me less than 49p.
I have never had any issues with fruit and veg I have purchased at other supermarkets.0 -

My bag of carrots from Sainsbury's last week went the same, covered in black spots, so I don't think it is just Aldi and Lidl.0
