Someone tell me off! I went shopping for curtains for the living room with DH as its getting cold now and the draught from the patio doors is getting to DH's arthritis, well I budgeted £200 for them as I wanted good quality thick ones. Duh*lm wanted £349  for made to measure so we went and looked at the ready made and bought some nice ones for £90 instead and a silver pole for another £40.
Woohoo I hear you all say :j well under budget :j . . . welllllllll . . . we then had a wander round the bedding section as we only have 1 duvet thats superking size so spend half our lives sleeping under a duvet thats shoved in a kingsize cover . . . . and . . hmmm . . . well . . . I spent another £100 on bedding
So I actually ended up spending £30 more than I meant tooim really becoming terrible with buying stuff  DH wants to take me to ik*a next week! OMG i'll have to sell a kidney of something! I alreay have a list of 2 thin bookcases, a coffee table, a cabin bed for DD, a white wardrobe for DD, a 3 door wardrobe for our room and 2 new bedside tables!

I'm thinking of you with night shift, sparky, but at least it's extra in your pocket. Now, to think of a way to alleviate your of the old c*w next door! :undecidedDreamerHelen wrote:Thanks Sue, I feel like I'm doing pretty well....And it's lovely to see all the encouragement from here....
In that case, Helen, we'll all be millionaires as there's plenty of encouragement for us all, but if not in cash then I'm sure we'll be wealthy in other ways, more important ones too I expect. Very well done with that £5er from the Angels too!!! :j
I had a feeling it was angling, Modesty, and what a relaxing way to while away time and see nature too.ToniLiz wrote:Sorry I have been away for what seems like ages. I have been happily hubby-rummaging for trouser shrapnel and potting any stray coinage found around the house in a vain attempt to get clutter-free before Chr****as (dare not say that word yet....!).
It's ok, ToniLiz, we're allowed to say it now as October's here. I love Christmas too!!!! :xmassmile:xmastree:
Do you really hate Christmas, Ruby? Anything specific?
What you say about some weeks lean, some better, ChristmasCarol, is a lot like the majority of us here, just save all you can and be proud of yourself.

Sue UU - Thankyou for your kind words. I have seen Oncologist today and been deemed too unwell to start next cycle of chemo on Monday. They will review it midweek and see if I am any better - may need another week to get blood levels right etc. TBH....am relieved as have been feeling rubbish and was dreading how the next lot was going to make me feel in addition to not feeling great already. Fingers crossed I am well enough by mid week.
Back on track......M***ison was very kind to you
I have been potting the odd few pennies. Would like to get about £25 in the pot between now and opening day, but more would be a lovely surprise.SPC No:118:j (6) £468.74 (7)
