Sealed Pot Challenge 6 ~ Part 2

Hi everyone
Getting excited for the next challenge!!! Will be quite pleased to put the current one to bed seeing as how we've had a challenging year and only saved a little
Thanks Sue-UU, was about to start looking fr a second hand coal bunker, when our naughty neighbour suggested i use the wheelie bin that had been discarded opposite her for ages and ages! She was sick of seeing it. Now i know that is a bit naughty but temptation was too great so have rescued it!!! Oops!

Amazing! The sun is shining and I have just got myself £12.40 to add to the pot from the local clothes exchange shop. Much to my surprise they managed to sell some of the stuff I dropped off - trade has been a bit erratic! Anyway, what I have had returned can go to charity to keep someone else clothed! So a nice warm feeling here! :T
Although, I am a bit worried our electric shower is on its way out so guess where I think my pot savings will end up - ah well, perhaps an exotic holiday in 3 yrs time is a bit of a dream anyway (lost my job this Jan due to health issues so plans may need to be reviewed). And...if it wasn't for you guys and this fab challenge, I'd be worrying where the money was going to come from for the repairs....Thankyou all for inspiring me to fill the old pot! :beer:Sealed Pot Challenge 1845:T0 -
Ah, I see what you mean now, Ruth, though why I didn't twig the first time......!
Oh, bless little Squash, though she probably thinks you're her mate! :rotfl:
It certainly looks that way! Just a shame i wont hear the pitter patter of tiny claws and tweetsLittle bit embarassed as shes been doing all the way to 10x since september and when I went to parents evening the teacher said they would be starting 2x after christmas  I thought they were all doing all the tables by now . . . I will admit its been a few years since I had a child in year 1 though so im a bit clueless with what they are supposed to learn
At least she is ahead rather than behind. She will be saying "miss, my mummy taught me these AGES ago. Why can't we learn something harder"I rarely use any cash for purchases. Can I use save the change from TSB. It rounds everything up to the £ and transfers it to another account so it's sort of the same thing.?
I wish barclays would offer that service.
I have been potting a few odd pennies here and there. I don't know if i'll get the £800 i wanted though. I had a letter the other day saying i have to pay £70 for cancelling my gym membership. I checked with my sister and she cancelled the same way but didn't get charged so i'm going to hunt out my contract. I haven't been in months so they've had more than the £70 from me!!
My plan for next year is to work my butt off and try to save as much as possible! This i've pretty much saved nothing apart from my potSealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

Iheart please would you pop your No onto your signature, please, it's vital in making things so much easier for sparky & I.
Well done for Jake in being man if the match, jakes-mum, Lily too for being ahead with the tables!! BTW, you put that entire post on - and NO money potted!! Is it any wonder I'll soon be grey!
I wouldn't even suggest such a thing, Modesty, but can't you pass that spoof 5p onto another shop or similar?! A good idea with the bento boxes! Though no doubt jakes-mum will one one and flog it on E-B!Y!!
Brilliant of your OH, dinglefoot, he's learning well, bless him.
Rosy, that's excellent saving! :T Very well done indeed and what a good heart you have to give some of it to the sufferers of the hurricane! :A
Not to worry, LeopardPrintsAndTea, you can only do your best. I only get 1 day to get cash on too.
Your DH sounds as though he's been hooked, claireyfairy, you'll have a good source of potting there for the year!ALM2013 wrote:I rarely use any cash for purchases. Can I use save the change from TSB. As jakes-mum has explained, ALM2013, there is a "Virtual Sealed Pot" here on MSE for exactly what you want if you'd sooner save with them. However, so long as you do save some cash in your pot you can stay with us and do as you suggest with TSB. Strewth I must be a soft touch! Do please let me know what you're going to do though. If you stay with us - please would you pop your No on your signature? It is vital.lynnejk wrote:Thanks Sue-UU - when was that ?? The old ads were the best and funny how they stuck in your mind he ? How about - 'Only the flakiest' etc although the ones for soap powders were always awful :rotfl:Sorry - I digress
As if I'd know the answer you're looking for, Lynne!Err um 70's I'd guess, I know nothing about before that!! I'll bet a lot of us know the Flake one though...I can see it now AND recall the tune, that's BAD!!
mommyof4, don't dwell on not been able to save much this year, the main thing is that you HAVE saved which is wonderful as many folk don't even bother. Be proud and try to do better next year. Well done with the wheelie bin, but how are you going to get the coal out??!Motoko wrote:It's been a while since I posted but I have had to open and use the pot for emergency dental work
There's a few coppers left, so I will count them and add to the total when we all add up.
I can't wait to start next years if there's one
Hi again, Motoko! What a shame you needed your cash for dental work - BUT - at least you had it by and no doubt you can still remember how much it was, in which case you saved it so you can still declare it. Please do so with whatever else is left. YES, there will be a SPC 7 starting on 29th November, see you then...and before! :j
So good to hear about your DGS's Birthday, LC 2! You're a rotten blighter to your DH at times.Wow, you'd had a few holidays this year - look out next year too by the looks of things, good luck to you both.
Hiya sparky, another holiday maker on the ready too. I guess those were good deals you had, well done! You all ready for next week?50thfun wrote:Although, I am a bit worried our electric shower is on its way out so guess where I think my pot savings will end up - ah well, perhaps an exotic holiday in 3 yrs time is a bit of a dream anyway (lost my job this Jan due to health issues so plans may need to be reviewed). You are welcome, 50thfun, a shame if the money is needed for the shower, but better to have the cash by than not. Well done with the clothing. :A
