  • Hi Big G. I have edited it, sorry about that I thought that as no name of the company or the MS company was mentioned it was okay. Will know not to do it again.
As for being mistaken about the fee, sadly I'm not. I took the overall total of the hours to be worked and divided it into the fee and that is what I got. As I said, that will be the reason it's been hanging around the board.

So you actually meant £x.xx per hour?

That is likely where the confusion came from. Your original post made it sound like £x.xx for the whole job.

Indeed it was, I still get a higher figure per hour but I'll not argue.
If you have a spare morning or afternoon they are not a bad job.

Glad you got it sorted, hope you feel better soon.

Blimey. That must be a company I'm not with - I've never seen jobs like that for £x.xx! That can't be serious, surely.

May need toedit your post too if the op has

How do we check which retail active assignments have been paid,
mental block after two weeks in the sun.
  • Just a vent really. Carried out a mystery shop with the american burger company with a big red letter symbol but payment was denied.

They said I left the premises after I bought my breakfast meal and said CCTV proved this! They obviously have the wrong person because I sat down for over 15 minutes dutifully eating my breakfast meal. I tried explaining to them that it could not possibly have been me but no replies nor apologies to my emails.

So, no longer wish to work for a company that blatantly call you a liar.

Are they allowed to use CCTV footage like that?

They can use however they like, but I'd ask for proof its you

If they still refuse payment, contact Gap Busters UK managing director, his details are here:

  • Interesting experience in that particular restaurant.

I have been told that I am not allowed to do them as I reported one store shouting 'G**burger' to another colleague as I ordered.

Anyway grabbing something to eat in another restaurant at another location, (not a job unfortunately).

Young female trainee there with a trainer being taught how to serve customers. I order the normal meal and he says ' First thing you should remember is that if a single person orders a meal like that they come from ********* and you need to give them fresh food and a receipt and tell your team members'.

The main purpose (and why we get paid!) of the MS job is to report what a normal customer experiences and the way it is set up is basically corrupting it. You may as well go in with a big hat saying 'Mystery shopper' on it when you order. In my opinion that is why they are having to pay premiums to get people to do them. When I visit with my kids now I make sure I have some ********* paperwork with me just to wind them up.

    Now discuss!!!

I have to admit, the way the visits are set up make you stand out as a MS. I've had some extremely over the top customer service, usually kicked off as soon as I ask for a receipt.

End of the day though, I'll continue to do the shops until I'm no longer needed by them. I still think their shops, with a premium, are great value for money (effort expended) :)
