Has anyone signed up to that Neilsen thing where you scan the barcodes of your weekly shop with a scanner they send you? In return you get "points" and entries into prize draws.

Are the points worth knack all? Is it worth it? I suspect not but thought I'd ask before dismissing it.

    Cheers

In my opinion it was a PITA to do, others may have different experiences but I gave up after 6 months.

After 6 months, what were your points worth? A brand new mountain bike or a tin of beans? Or somewhere in between?

I suspect this isn't worth it too. When companies talk in points instead of pounds - that's usually a bad sign!

Thanks guys! I'm enjoying it so far, yes - nice to just get a free/cheap meal on the occasion if anything. ;)

I signed up to TNS a few days ago too and passed the acceptance test. I received a call from them earlier on today asking me to do a bank assignment with a dictophone, which I accepted - I've basically got to just go and open a current account with them. Can anyone share any advice? Thanks! :)

It's fine, just act normal and forget about the dictaphone. Make sure you read your brief so that you ask for the right account features. This job does a full credit check so consider that if you need to keep your credit score high. The worse part of it is uploading all the information into the report after it, but I think the fee cushions the blow. Good luck.

Yeah, the brief seems simple enough. Apparently I have a good enough credit score to do the task and I'm not planning on taking out any more loans/credit cards in the near future, so it's no big deal. And yeah, I'd say it's definitely worth the effort! Thank you :)

I have to admit, I did think that they were throwing me in at the deep end a bit considering that I hadn't even done my first shop for them at that point (I did my first one with them today). But I'm sure I'll be fine - I've had many years of practice with dictaphones :)

Anyone else had problems with MF? I have twice been accused of sending in a scan of my receipt when I have sent in a photo. I have been with them for years and have always photographed receipts as I have never had a scanner! It only seems to happen with the pub jobs.

The cure has been photographing them on something like my laptop keyboard and leaving a bit of the background in.

Snapping 'em on a cushion or a piece of cloth also works.
