Ref charity shop and paying with exact money.

It's to see if the money goes in the till or their pocket, is this not explained in the brief?

Big thanks for collecting all information and posted here as their are lots of concern about earnings and tax related systems and I am not sure for earnings but this will help me to get direction.

An SSL is what gives you the secure site padlock and https, it lookalike the old one expired and the new one hasn't been installed correctly, you don't fix it RA do.
