Thankfully the shop I did had none of that 99p nonsense, all round amounts. Phew!0

On the React charity shop, be aware that when they say exact change, they mean EXACT change. I got hauled up for paying for an item priced at £29.99 with three tenners. They expect you to go in with every combination of change for any item you might find priced between £25 and £30 - and for the other smaller purchase too. It took me a while to work this out, but my my calcs that's a minimum of three notes and 48 coins. Shan't be doing another.
when they say buy some thing for £5 that's gift aid?
like bloody treasure hunt0 -
I must say I am really losing the love for mystery shopping I had a shoe shop booked today fee wasn't even 1/2 min wage would have been lucky if I had got shoes half paid for and there was nothing I liked so I cancelled it.
maybe a 'flake' whatever it means would have been more appealing0 -

I did some when they were with the other company - it always asked for us to re-donate but never said when to do so. I used to keep them for the next visit, as a bag-full of stuff was usually needed, or just pop them in to a local shop when passing. Remember to take the stickers off

Which is exactly what I did. And was then told that it still breached the rules, as I should have paid with 2999 coppers.0 -

Yep - had the same problem. In the end I brought a couple of items under the value as the sticky did say 'up to' or near. No doubt will get an inquisition into that. Must admit this is the first charity shop I have done and not sure I would do one again as seemed a right faff in the end. Visiting it twice within half an hour, making sure I had enough loose change, uploading receipts and photo's. Certainly would not go out my way to do one unless its on the door step...0 -

The only shoe shop I have seen, which seemed worth it was a surprisingly a MF one, where they pay 50% of the purchase price on quite an expensive brand of shoes. It comes up 2/3 a year and does 'hang' for a short while..0 -

I've looked at that one before. The 50% savings are, for me at least, hugely outstripped by a trip to that company's reasonably local factory shop - where said shoes are sold for about 25% of the ticket price. The factory shop also gets MS-ed and so, while the job isn't worth much, it does mean a fully functional and well-made pair of boots for about the same price some places charge for flipflops.0 -
I've just had my two reports queried. "I notice that you didn't make either of your purchases with the exact change. Could you explain why this was please?".
Are they serious I bought 1 item at £2.99 the other at £4.99. Paying with 3 x £3 pound coins and 1x £5. I don't plan on doing anymore of these visits.0
