Agree - had to drop their outdoor shop before my hols as the shop was going to take an hour and the report looked horrible and was running out of time on the day.

Has anyone else noticed React doing more self assign?

Yes, I think it's more through desperation as the new intake of wannabees at head office have made the lives of longterm mystery shoppers a misery. Ted is however a legend.

I've been really put off applying for anything after getting the new rules email last week. When I take a job on I might not know exactly when I'm going to do it because I wait until I have a full day's work in that area - but I always do it within the deadline. But according to that email 5 reschedules in a year and your grade will drop. Not sure why rescheduling is such a problem as long as the job gets done within the deadline.

Just signed up to a mystery shopping company, I've never done it before so planning to do just one or two to see how I find it before signing up to other companies / doing it regularly.

I hear that mystery shopping counts as self-employment; currently on JSA (hoping to put the report-writing on my CV ;)) and was wondering how many hours of the mystery shopping I can do without it affecting what I get? I know I won't get much from MS, but it's a productive use of my free time -- a friend found out about a job vacancy when she popped into a shop and saw it advertised in their window, so I might even find a job through the mystery shopping if I'm lucky :p

    Any tips for a newbie?

My top tip would be to read P1 of this thread as suggested on the green banner at the top of each page.

Thanks for the heads up on this email. I had to go searching through my spam emails to find it. So basically if you reschedule more than 5 times in a year, you will get a grade 1 and therefore I can't see how you would get anymore work from them if that's the case. I don't like the way, you only get brief details of the job before you accept it - why can't you see the full brief?. That's how I got caught on the outdoor shop as was far more work than I had anticipated. Don't do much for them anyway but see that you need to be very careful what you pick up from them in the future.

    Hi all,
I would like to know if any of you have had any problems registering as Self Employed when you are a tenant. Have you talked to your landlord/landlady about it? Does the house need a special insurance as it is "used" for a business?

    Thanks in advance!

Oh thank you – this is such a useful forum. I hadn’t paid attention to this email.

How ill conceived the whole thing is.

Anyone else baulk at the use, in a supposedly professional context, of the term ‘flake’ ?
    arghhh!!!

I know this has been said before but React are being really cheeky with the detail they're asking for in reports. Its just not worth it at the moment. :/

I didn't mind the long detailed React reports when they paid mileage too, but not anymore. Hell no.

Having said that, GR are now following suit. Has anyone done the cat shop recently? Fork me, the number of interactions has gone up as has the number of questions that require a long response. I won't be doing them again in a hurry!

I know folk don't really like RE/MF on here, but the opticians I did was just "yes" and "no" tick boxes all the way through save 2 typing boxes. I would rather one of them over long detailed responses for every other question anyday.

Did anyone get a phone call from ESA about the in store price checks today?
