Quite a funny one.
I mystery shopped a fast food place and wasn't spotted as a shopper at all - I could tell as the staff and managers continued to hang around the counter chatting after I sat down.
As I was eating a chap came in - and they clearly thought he was a/the shopper. To be fair, I can see why they thought that - he seemed very aware and did seem to be attentive to his watch. Maybe he was - I have no idea whether they send several shoppers in at once?
Was amusing having a prime position to observe the shift in behaviour - but knowing that they were probably doing it to the wrong person0 -
CAN anyone recommend a good body camera for covert shops. There so many around0

Industry standard is the Lawmate Evo (a few need the newer Evo2) recording box, there are more expensive ones with a hard drive rather than having to use SD cards too, you'll also need either a BU13 or BU18 camera, SD cards and a spare battery, these are not cheap and not easy to use.0 -

The mystery shopping company send the client comments through exactly as the client stated them and I find some of the comments very aggressive. Luckily, as I'm fitting these in around video visits, I always video them.
One of them said that they disputed my whole visit as I had refused to sit down, was clearly in a rush and they had CCTV to prove it. But they worded it much more forcefully that this. It was great being able to prove that I had sat down and that they were lying. However, if I wasn't able to video them I think I'd find their comments would put me off doing further jobs.
Yep, quite agree.
I've had that with the DS phone client. Had one disputing what happened, over an accessory of all things, and quite aggressive in tone. Stuck to my guns and was paid luckily.0 -
Has anyone done the outdoor shop jobs for React. I was due to do it, but had to cancel as needed to sort out college courses with my son. Blimey - think they were asking a lot for the assignment in return for the fee. MF's equivalent was far larger re-imbursement and less hassle - (I very rarely have a positive on MF work). Some of the React reports are starting to get ridiculous for the fees on offer. No I don't want to spend an hour in the shop and another hour+ filling in the report.0

And don't get the Lite version. You can't change the resolution or sound settings and different companies have different requirements.0 -

Yes, only took it for a decent bonus and then it really wasn't worth the hassle, did an MF one yesterday as I needed a new hat for my hollibobs as you say far easier and a way better spend.DevilsAdvocate1 wrote: »And don't get the Lite version. Proofreading query in from MS-lost-the-will-to-live.com:
Query: ....please confirm if the baskets were available when you first saw them?
Reply: .... as stated in my comments, I did not think baskets were available at first as I could not see them ... surprisingly, when I first saw them, they were available! To expand further .. they were hiding, around a corner and not visable at first or second glance.
Waiting with bated breath to see if I get fired ....

.. and since I am grumbling ... am I being unreasonable with the fee for the train jobs, return journey totalling 4 hours station-to-station?0

It depends, last time I did them I had work at the other end of the line and used the travel time to catch up on date entry, reading briefs and other admin work. Half the battle is time management.
The length of time actually doing the job I was being paid to do wasn't that long at all.0
