Don't know if anyone else has had this happen.
I have been MSing since Oct 13 and one of the first companies I joined was GYP. Although not a fan of their fast food burger company it sounded a good way in. I did a lot of burger visits in my first 2 months (2 a week on average) but got really sick of the food. I then decided to do one or two visits a month just for the bonus offers. I have now been "deregistered" as I have not done an artery clogging visit for 2 months.
Shame really cos the free fuel was a nice boost. Still....plenty more fish in the sea.0 -

On the wind down to holidays so been taking it easy with those PiP premiums and a few for TNS. If I was looking for more its a bit quiet out there but it was the same this time last year.0 -

Same boat - in wind down for holidays - doing bits which are not too arduous. In general its quiet for me and was same last Aug. In my FT job its same as well so guess that MS agencies and clients slow down as well. Sep/Oct last year was good so hopefully will be same.0 -
Welcome!
There is some excellent advice in the first few posts on this thread. Follow it and you wont go far wrong. You will see there is a bit of 'discussion' about reimbursement only and how this is regarded. (It has been a recurring discussion over the different threads.)
My advice would be to register self employment, keep excellent records, declare income (which will involve a tax return) and then pay any tax due, if and when it is demanded.
You put in your tax return after the end of the tax year. So for example, in 2013-14, you would have to submit a paper return by 31st October, or if you do it online, by 31st January 2015.
I believe if you only do minor reimbursement only restaurant jobs, you will not find yourself paying extra tax. For fee paying work, expenses can often balance the income.
But don't be tempted to use that as a reason to not declare. There are several on here that would echo me in saying that dealing with a tax enquiry is a far from joyful experience.
Aside from all that - I hope you enjoy your 'free' dinners!
Really helpful, thank youYou're right-there is excellent advice on here. Thank you to all who give it so freely
