Have asked RA to explain there ranking system via email but no response (what a surprise) however have received 5 calls from them today, didn't answer, no voicemails left. Last time I took a call from them I thought I was being sold a timeshare, double glassing or worst still had a PPI claim.

is it just me - or has there been a note of resentment and rebellion about the thread the last few days?

While there may be those who take the mick, there are so many times when people on here demonstrate they are careful and meticulous, taking pride in doing a good job. And for so little reward.

Some of these MS co’s can be shockers. Talk about grinding the face of the poor. Reflecting on it, RA have ‘cost’ me more time than their jobs are worth chasing (accurate) payment. I find the business of proof readers rejecting faint receipts particularly appalling.

Every now and again I want to have a rage against the machine.

So I ‘retired’ RA today. It was raining hard. I decided I would not get out of the car and do their pathetic fee job.

    It felt strangely liberating.

I got fed up with them ringing my home - work and mobile in succession a couple of times a day. The only number they can ring is a mobile now and I just ignore it as they never leave a message. If they jacked the fees and wasted less time wasting money ringing people - now that's a thought...

You raise an interesting point and if you read back the archive on this thread you will find a list of 10 realisations of mystery shopping. In the list is the one about being in the same street as a MF/RA assigment and cant be ars**d to it due to low fees versus doing the report. Those comments were posted 3/4 years ago - welcome to the club..

MF sacked a long time ago too, anal proofreaders who are just jobsworth with no common sense.

I will have a trawl back & see if I can find it. Be interesting to see if the list needs updating.

Don't suppose you can remember which of the old threads it was on can you?

I've done very little work MF over last few months. They were great to get a feel of what MS work is all about but after a recent incident with them no way will I do another visit.

They were desperate to get a visit done in a bed shop at a retail park. They even offered me mileage. I did the job but I had to buy something with a £8 expense limit. cheapest thing in shop was £50. So I got a business card they refused to pay me the fee and mileage as I didn't buy anything. I told them that there brief was ridiculous and needed changing and that I would never work for them again. No joy in getting payment or a response.

I gladly accepted RA jobs when I first started. Okay the fees were low, but they were not onerous and, quite often, I could do half a dozen in close proximity.

However, the briefs are getting increasingly convoluted: there was one near me in a DIY Shop which required the MSer to make four separate enquiries for different products before making a specimen purchase. The fee is peanuts, and for that they also want a lengthy narrative "Tell us what happened"...

    Jog on.

Hi, have just done my first Tern job and I need to download a copy of an email. She told me I need to screenshot the attachment and upload it into the report, however not sure what is meant by this, so copied the email as a screenshot on to a Word document and I have saved it as a pdf and downloaded it. Do you think this is acceptable as need to complete by tomorrow!
    Thanks
