The reason people take these jobs is usually because they are already carrying out a shop in the area and it's a good way to earn a few extra quid while passing...what people are complaining about is the way that the MS company are treating people who are doing this now by expecting it all the time at a moments notice with no consideration for the fee or expenses to cover this and the endless calls that they get asking them repeatedly to do so. They are also fed up with the fact that the cost of living is going up in terms of petrol. For the people who rely on MS as a job, the wages aren't actually increasing but more work expected in terms of scenarios in store being extended and "video" reports being included in nearly every shop for not only the same fee but in some cases a lot less money.
Now I can understand that might not bother you if you see it as a paid hobby but for people who view it as a job - then yes that is an issue!:rotfl:Survey Queen/Poundland Fanatic:rotfl:0 -
Sorry, I didn't mean to sound as insensitive as I did.
I was wondering why people took jobs knowing (in advance) that they were going to be annoyed about them afterwards.
I do see the aspects people are upset about and I appreciate your explanation0 -
1) Being trapped in a TNS phone shop by a party of 23 foreign exchange students wanting £1 phones each, who hadn't been served by the mos one of who had been on the phone and was smoking into the shop, with 4 other customers.
2) The Local Pub for Local People. - in Central London.0 -
I once told the co that does the big blue yellow and foreign furniture places that you literally could not offer me enough money to o and make enquiries there on a weekend.
It was a slight exaggeration. If they offered to pay for the entire kitchen I have to plan, I'll do it. But for nothing less.0 -
Unfortunately people will still take the dross underpaid jobs, lap them up even and the downward spiral of fees will continue.0

There's a couple of scenarios for that one, one of them isn't too bad and if you avoid the weekend they pay isn't too bad. The questionnaire has improved loads since I did my first.0 -

Really, Big Graeme? Which ones? When I looked the briefs said it'll take 1 or 2 hours with numerous enquires to different staff. It put me off.
Please pm or post which ones are okay.
Thanks0 -

The one that's not as bad is one where you go through a kitchen design. It does pay slightly less but you can do it in about an hour. I would not attempt to do them at the weekends and I try to do them when the store has just opened.0 -
This is a bit rich coming from those nice people at Gyp....

Presumably syntax will not be one of the criterion being measured?0 -
I'm going to do my first assignment with Helion. Is it cheaper to get paid by bank transfer (Natwest in my case) or Paypal?0
