"How to Start Mystery Shopping!
Dear shoppers,
To be able to conduct assignments for us, there will be required to complete a certification test. "
I’m happy to share my belief that gyp don’t care at all about syntax, spelling or any of the niceties the other companies obsess about. I suspect they might even accept a report in txt msg style…..as long as it was positive.
But there are companies which would happily slice off the odd boll*ck from those not meeting all their arcane criteria when writing reports. I know it’s not serious, but folks, doesn’t it get up your nose to be told you have lost a mark for e.g. using American spelling, when their spell check suggested the change. Arghhh!arghhh!!!0 -
I will dig it out next week. IMHO it should be a sticky as reflects what MS work is truly like. It was done as a laugh but still reflects MS work today (sadly)
I have not found it in my looking back, but I think your idea about it being a sticky is good. Perhaps it could be included in the first posts on these threads?arghhh!!!0 -
Really, Big Graeme? Which ones? When I looked the briefs said it'll take 1 or 2 hours with numerous enquires to different staff. It put me off.
Please pm or post which ones are okay.
Thanks
I would say an hours work is fair for the payment.
There are four queries usually sometimes 5, hardly back breaking work. You have to go at the right times (I tend to go at store opening midweek) and hunt down the staff you need.
Jobs like this are all about how you manage your time and how you manage the approaches to staff, dawdle around like your average shopper and it will take ages.
The kitchen and bathroom design ones are easy too but you can only do them so often.0 -

These recent posts made me ponder the worst MS assignments over the last year I have done:
1) Merchandise jobs for the company that does not like to be named. The stock is never in the large stock room and the local supermarket staff are really rude and unhelpful. Fees don't cover any form of re-visit which always likely.
Can't say they've ever asked me to revisit anywhere for free? I can see how those jobs are a massive PITA if you're not used to delving around warehouses looking for lost stock. I used to spend a lot of time doing that when I worked in a Stock Control job and there's a certain knack and instinct involved.
Think backwards, if you were working on nights filling shelves in that shop, and that box appeared on a cage of delivery, you'd never seen or heard of the product before (and you can't be arsed to investigate where it should be) - where would you put it, or which department would you throw it in the general direction of to get it out of your hair?Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -
I usually go with a member of staff to look in the warehouse for the items.
I have only ever had 1 job where I went into the warehouse by myself and I have done tons of merch.
Have you knocked them on the head? sounds like you don't get on with them.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

I only do the buy backs now and those odd ones where they want something collected and despatched or the covert/overt audits. I do agree that you are probably better off if you have a knowledge of merchandising in the first place for those jobs.0 -
Well it looks like I've been sacked by a company who have the strangest jobs ever...scanning items mainly. Can't say that its of any loss to me and tbh they've done me a favour as I don't have to tell them I've sacked them :T:rotfl:Survey Queen/Poundland Fanatic:rotfl:0

Do I spy a slight increase in RA fees?0

I've tried merchandising but it's just not for me:rotfl:Survey Queen/Poundland Fanatic:rotfl:0
