I have an item that was purchased and written down over three tax years, I now need to replace it, if I sell the old one what are the tax implications?
I've absolutely no idea, it might be worth asking on the tax forum0 -

I thought the esa testwas dreadful. There were some questions that could have had more than one answer. What are they like anyway. Is it all physical mystery shopping.:footie:0

I have had the odd phone call asking me to do an audio visit. Apart from that its been quiet since well before Xmas. I presume that they have regular auditors and only place jobs on the board when its a nationwide job. Pity they lost the clothes shop to MF as that was a regular..
I was wondering the same. Nothing on the job board though I did quite a few in Jan and Feb. Now getting phone calls from jobs which have never been on the board. Maybe they are updating their systems.
I replied positively to the survey, they must know that no-one can do 52 weeks on the year and have some plan for substitutions....you hope!0 -

As far as I know, you need to reduce your capital allowances pool by whatever your sale proceeds are, which might result in a balancing charge in this year. And then you will be able to get allowances afresh for whatever you replace it with. As I am a new poster I am not allowed to post links, but HMRC website is a good place to look if you can't talk to anyone. If you google HMRC capital allowance helpsheet you should come up with the goods!0 -

Thanks for that, looks like its going to charity then, I really can't be a***d with that fuss.0 -
RA are driving me nuts - they must ring my mobile phone about twice a day and not leave a message. As I do very little for them I can only assume its to try and persuade me to do the jobs remaining on the board in my area. Perhaps they should jack the fees and then they may shift..
Not much take up on the health shops or flowers and the fee for the buy and return on the toys shops is a joke.0 -

That must be a pain Larac. Strangely enough they are one of a few companies that I have mentioned before on here who I have never seen a single job for in my chosen areas and despite emailing them have never received a reply. You might not have done much for them but you are clearly the chosen one whether you like it or not. What's your secret? Then again perhaps it's better I don't know.0
