Main thing I've noticed is fees are falling. Market Force are the worst culprits to the extent I rarely even log on to see what they've got on offer. They sometimes ring me with a double fee for Dutch health food shops that I will do but that's about it.

I generally won't do anything for less than £10 unless it's next to another job I am already doing.

Unfortunately so many sad people do the MF jobs at such low fees they will continue to reduce fees due to these people.

Hi all. I don't post much on this site but do regularly read it and want to thank everyone for some very helpful information I've received over the last 6 months or so of my MSing.

I have a question though. I recently joined up to ESA and received emails from them asking for my availability for the following week. The problem I have is that in the nature or my main job I am continuously booking appointments with reps, normally only with about 2 or 3 days notice, so although I could tell ESA I'm available on such and such day/time etc, that could very easily change within 24 hours of me sending off the form. As yet I haven't filled in any of these forms and returned them to ESA, cause I wanted to find out if they would then penalise you, by not offering jobs, if you're no longer available when you said you would be?

    Thanks in advance!

You are not missing much, all they try and do is give you a few of the jobs that are hanging around on their board.
  • Just got back from a bank assignment and the branch is closing in two months, what's the point?

I don't mind I'm still getting paid for it.

I once did a shop the day it was closing down!

No is the quick answer they won't. Since they lost a big chunk of work they have been trying to use this method to get a few crap paying jobs covered that nobody wants. Other than a few bit of regular work that is done by the same people, what work they have goes on the job board. Carry on taking work if it suits and ignore what doesn't.

The cheap supermarket jobs seem to go quite quickly in my area, god only knows why! Even if you're there already, surely it's not worth your time to fill the report in for the appalling fee they pay.

I am presuming that MF must have hoards on their books as the jobs do fly off the shelves and on the doorstep. I did their coffee shop job out of interest as it was in the same street as Tns phone shops I was doing last week. The report was broadly similar to what you do for React plus the usual picture that MF insist on. Wouldn't bother again as the fee was not worth the faffing around with the report. I don't mind putting the effort for React in as think the fee is fine for their coffee jobs but when MF expect the same for what they pay it is not right. The MF Facebook page makes interesting reading as there is always some one on there banging on about this.

I was assigned a job with Helion, my first job with them, the due date is today so I was going to do it today but they've emailed to say it's overdue. Am I not allowed to do jobs on the actual due date with Helion? I would've tried to fit it in yesterday if I'd realised. My fault I guess. :(

    Hello,

Check your e-mail again as mine said "close or past it's due date"

I only bother with their jobs when they feed me, it saves me buying lunch, there is also one of those cheap supermarkets just over the road from my office that I'll do when I see it, other than that I haven't done much for them in ages.

Those car jobs are hanging around and no wonder looking at the brief, I have told then that the eye tests are a third of what I would expect and what I get from other companies, if they can't shift them that is their look out.

A lot of the people that work for them are students and folks who couldn't care less as long as they get free stuff, I was in an MF chicken shop a couple of days ago, the person who was there as a MS'er had the brief right on top of their handbag, if I could see it anyone could, they wondered why they were getting the full floor show.
  • Hello all, could anyone point me to a website or any info. on a certain movie trailer checking company (I'm no good with the cryptic naming but they sent out an invitation e-mail Wednesday morning for a film starring little plastic people).
I ask because although I remember registering with them recently I cannot find any details on what you actually have to do. I can guess beforehand but I have had my fingers burnt doing this in the past with other assignments.
Any help would be gratefully received as ever.

I don't find them too bad to be honest, but only do them when they give mileage.

Anyone know how much they will pay mileage as they never seem to turn down my requests but I don't want to get greedy, I ask for about 40p a mile.

The jobs I hate most are the car dealerships where you have to go twice, I avoid those now.

I find, if they are really desperate, they'll almost pay you whatever mileage you ask for. There's been times I've asked for mileage and they've snapped my hand off, these are the times I feel I could have asked for more :o

I've dropped the two visit car dealerships since, for the only time in 500+ shops, I was asked if I was a Mystery Shopper. Ridiculous scenario was an absolute joke, asking for a SUV that no-one buys (why would anyone specifically ask for a 4 wheel drive vehicle in just 2 wheel drive mode).
