I've spent too much on my kids presents to buy myself anything, I might have to make mine a January sale bonus0 -
I've just had another awkward gap burger. I'm sure they must have sent round a pic of me in the area. I've done 2 visits in the last 2 weeks both dine in in restaurants I've not done a gap visit before.
Poor guy in front of me had to wait for my meal to be served before he had his. The crew member shouted gap quarter when serving me. I sat down to eat and had three people cleaning around me waiting for me to finish so they could take my tray.
Ive not done the report yet and not sure if I should be honest and say what actually happened. I couldn't get out of the place quick enough it was so uncomfortable.0 -
Is anyone else being chased by proof readers with silly queries and by allocators who aren't willing to offer bonuses but want jobs doing immediately, or am I being singled out for special treatment.
MF proofreaders and ESA allocators for me. SIGH. If you're not going to give me a hefty premium for braving the shops at this time of year you can take a hike!!!!!Minimalist

I've done a few recently, and I don't think they have clocked me yet. I'm pretty sure it is the specific order which gets them, rather than the person. I sat down with my order last week and sitting across from me was someone else eating exactly the same meal as me. I would imagine he got pretty good service as well.
I'm quite distinctive looking, which should be a disadvantage for a mystery shopper, but I mix it up with clothing, depending whether I'm in work gear or casual gear.0 -

I maybe wrong but I think shouting 'gap' means they've run out of those burgers not that they're publicly outing you as working for Gap. (The same thing happened to me in a particularly crappy restaurant.)0 -

Could be a genuine gap. I was also offered a paper while I was there the crew member didn't offer to anyone else in the restaurant just me. Sooner they change the brief the better.0 -

Depends if it's about money or principle for you. If it's about the principle of providing a solid, reliable, honest, credible report, then do that and take the sacking like I did. If it's about money, then just write them a glowing report.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -
What's the point in lying? I've never compromised, praised when required and reported unusual (suspicious) staff behaviour - 3 years on, I'm still doing it.
Sure, I've been challenged following a report upload but since I video my own visits - I, too can refer to CCTV to prove my point if need be.0 -

You got sacked for telling the truth??
Surely it can be about both? I'm not doing this because I see it as some higher calling to improve the world of retail. I'm doing it for a mix of reasons including for extra cash, some free food and possibly a degree of boredom. At the same time, like everything I get paid for, I want to do it well.
I haven't come across any spectacularly bad service yet. Phones were way off script, but people were genuine and did want to sell. I have noticed that the reports where I have had questions or proof-reading queries have been ones where I have highlighted 'areas for improvement.' It kind of defeats the purpose if they want to use mystery shopping to hear how good they are, rather than to hear how they should improve.0 -
I've been honest and said I felt uncomfortable as if I was being rushed in my comments. I didn't mention the Gap quarter though.
If they sack me for being honest then that's up to them.0
