Ive noticed the reports for the visits Im doing now are going through to the unpaid pay statement at a lower rate than usual, even though they are listed correctly on the job board page too so hopefully they will iron out these kinks asap, all adds up when I think ive done over 50 of these so far

It usually sorts itself out when they have been proofed and sent to the customer, if not give them a nudge and it gets fixed.

Hi. I've been MSing for a few months, mainly in my local area but now accepting work a bit further away. Can anyone help with a mileage query please? Where a company pays mileage that is less than the HMRC allowance, do I claim the difference in my tax return or should it be recorded in some other way? Thanks for any advice.

I'm not a tax advisor so don't take this as gospel! But this is how I've always done it anyway.

Your profits should always be calculated based on HMRC rate. Whether the company pays mileage below that, or no mileage at all, is basically irrelevant. You receive a total sum in payment for the job and you deduct your HMRC mileage (and allowable expenses) from that.
  • I know this isn’t strictly mystery shopping but I am doing my first stint of exit interviews tomorrow. Does anyone have any advice, suggestions for things I’ll need i.e. an umbrella etc.?

I'm just about done with MF- they have sent a 2nd threatening reminder, after I have already confirmed once. This was my response to them...

    Dear X,

I would like to register my disgust at the way you treat your shoppers. You have already made me confirm this assignment once and now you are asking for me to confirm it again and are threatening to remove it otherwise. I have had no response to the first complaint I made about this treatment.

What has happened to your trust in your shoppers? If I have accepted this assignment in the first place, it is because I intend to complete it. Asking for confirmation once is insulting enough, but TWICE! I would like an explanation. I have never failed to complete an assignment for you. Exactly what is your problem?

    Yours disgustedly,

Have never done these before but did a few for Assosia this week, now have a house piled high with a product they have stated they "May" Want returned to them, how long is it before theynormally confirm that they want to collect them or its OK the chuck them. As I have lost most of one room in the house!! and for the fairly pitiful fee I dont want the house tied up as thier shipping warehouse for ever!!

Read back through the thread, this has been answered before.
It is part of the job, you store till they say what you are to do with them.

Sorry must have missed it, well that will the the only jobs I ever do for them then, not using my house as a storage faciity for them for an indeterminate amount of time for the paltry fees on offer.

Another company to tick off the list. (Not sure why I even bothered to be honest). When the one company I do 99.9% of my work for gives no hassle at all...
