  • It's no longer a debate when atheists are encouraging members to reject their faith.
  • Why is it pathetic? An atheist finding a book that was written by a Christian inspirational?

And how un-Christian of you to start slinging personal insults around.

    Not sure how I'm twisted.

Who said I was a Christian? Making more assumptions Heartbreak?

Heartbreak - You are becoming a little twisted with your views, if you find HP inspirational then you should start a separate post on the subject - to bring it up here is pathetic.

Actually I am the one who brought harry potter into it as a way of showing that any book can be inspirational and any book can be used to quote something to back up your opinion on a subject. Before insulting others maybe you should reread and double check your facts so you at least insult the right person

It's irrelevant it was a mute point you made about HP anyway.

To me, all this boils down to is "accept your lot in life", which is such a backward anti-progress way of thinking.

Not at all Ephesians 5:16 says:

making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

If someone with a faith said things which encouraged the atheists to start believing, would that be 'no longer a debate'?

I suppose it depends on specifically what has been said.

Yes, Fosterdog posted the following and no doubt you liked it as you've liked every anti Chrisitan post on this thread thus far regardless of how silly it was.

Maybe it is time for you to stop believing, if you are going through a tough enough time that calls for you to pray for strength and your prayers are not answered then on top of whatever else you have going on it will also leave you feeling alone and abandoned by your god and questioning whether everything you do is right or wrong.

Cut god out of the equation and there is a whole load off your mind, you then only need to find the strength to cope with life and not also the worry that your god doesn't love you otherwise she wouldn't leave you feeling the way you do.

If you turn away from god but later on think you made a mistake you can always go back to believing, after all isn't she supposed to forgive everything and I'm regularly told that as soon as I'm ready to repent for not believing I will be welcomed back with open and loving arms.

YOU are the only one in control of your life and by leaving everything to god you are copping out of having to take action for your own happiness
