Tuna is really not good for cats, but especially for such tiny kittens as it contains far too much salt. Her kidneys will struggle to process it. There is absolutely no difference in salt content between tuna in brine or spring water either.

    I am sorry.
I really thought it was ok. Obviously not for every day as probably too rich.
My vet told me to do it for my boy to kick start his appetite.

Sorry OP. Hopefully one dish won't do any harm.

Chameleon, would tuna or any particular fish be ok if you bought direct from the fishmonger and boiled & mashed that up?
I remember I once boiled up some coley for my boy but he preferred the tuna!

The odd bit of tinned fish, especially tinned mackerel in tomato sauce, will usually do no harm in tempting an anorexic or poorly cat to eat again. But this is a very young kitten, weighing probably no more than 300-400g at the moment so wouldn't be a wise choice. I see no reason why fresh fish can't be used in general. My parents used to rely on scraps from the fish mongers to feed our farm cats, they loved it :)

fresh sardines from mr T are only about 40p each, you could get a couple and grill them, pull off the bones when cool and then feed to Magic.

In terms of pooing under sofa, I was just wondering if she prefers it there because it's dark and I guess it could feel kind of safe and private?
Was wondering whether it would be worth trying putting litter tray in a box on its side to try to mimic the conditions to see if that helps?

Seems to have worked , thanks so much :A pood in there today & yesterday :j Can't believe I am so excited over poop lol !:rotfl:
