    There's a long story to follow about undermounted sinks for granite if this thread goes that way.

    I am considering a quartz worktop for my new kitchen (want a light colour) and was intrigued by this.

    Could you possibly point me to another thread which expands on that? (Or, just expand on it a little).

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Had a chat with my fitter and another brand he recommended is Teka, but although I can find the model I like on their website, I can't find anywhere to buy it in the UK so no idea about the cost.

    Is Teka ok..?

    Well, for anyone about to go for granite or quartz tops, this thread is the Bees;

    My comments about the hassle of replacing a sink mounted under a granite top were these.
    The sink is routed into the support work below, or the sides of the unit, the granite has to be lifted to replace the sink, remember it's all bonded in place.

    Very few if any granite installer will do this without it being at your risk:eek::eek:
    And yes I have been party to one such incident, and it didn't go well.

    This, inspite of what others may think, is why I think it essential to get the sink with the best chance of surviving the duration.

  • some great advie here re the sinks, thanks.
    I ordered a Blanco Subline undermount from Germany on Monday morning and it arrived on Friday. Brilliant service and cost £238 delivered compared to £450 plus if bought in the UK.

    Good info sunnyskies123, can you tell me where did u order it from, and if it comes with the waste kit and fittings?
  • Having decided to order the sink from Germany (Bielmeier), the one we want comes with a remote control, and they don't supply it without it.

    Can anyone tell me if this will be too complicated to install...? We asked our kitchen fitter but he couldn't tell us...
  • Remote control - would this be a pop up waste? If so they have been about for years and straight forward to fit.
  • Sorry, don't know what's a pop up waste.. the remote control is a knob that allows to empty the sink without putting your hands inside the water. It requires an extra hole on the worktop. (on some pictures I've found on google it's to the right of the tap, top right corner of the sink).
